Textures seem brighter in-game... Lighting thing? [SOLVED]
Hi. I know that editable lighting is on the roadmap, but I just wanted to check something...

The textures I have on my tiles seem brighter in-game than when I am editing them. I can't seem to get true black, for example.

The items have full roughness, but it's not really a glare issue, more than it seems to be the amount of light is actually cast on them... which, I assume, could only be remedied by the planned 'adjustable lights' feature.

Nothing I can do currently do somehow bring the texture brightness down? I've tried compensating in the texture itself, but even the full blacks are 'dark grey' in-game.

You are right, the lighting causes images to look a bit different when applied as textures, but there's also other factors like post-processing. Adjustable lighting wouldn't change much about that. But the next update will include an option to use emissive maps instead of regular images, which can help if colors close to the original image are more important than correct lighting.
