But there is much to consider for singleplayer content, e.g. mods.
Both games have lots of awesome skins out there, some to purchase, most are free to download on sides like deviantart.
Another thing are patches(hacks), e.g. it's possible to get mai for doa5 steam version, you can't purchase her anymore here at steam, but google knows how to get her.
Also important for me are the cheattables, e.g. you can change the moveset from one character to another at doa6 (very good working as long as the chars have same height), enable cpuvscpu mode, hide HUD and much more.
It's also related to the chars. Most chars are available on both games but there are excpetions, e.g. Pai Chan at DOA5 or Kula Diamond at DOA6.
While i agree that DOA5 is the better game i actually play DOA6 more. For 2 reasons. Quality cheatengine tables and Kula diamond.
Without those 2 i would completely ignore DOA6. But what's important for you is something only you can answer ;-)
You can also test DOA6 for free, and for the doa quest mode even with all characters, not just with the 4 free ones.
Overall after buying DOA 6 on this sale and all it's DLC I can say that this is a much better package than Last Round. I'm not sure overall yet which game I prefer the mechanics of yet (the answer is honestly probably DOA 4 or DOA Dimensions which aren't on steam). If you were on console I might recommend DOA 5 LR, but overall DOA 6 on PC is superior to the trash port of DOA 5 we have.
Also DOA 6 actually has functional multiplayer you can use to play with your friends unlike DOA 5 which is just impossible to play online.
