How did you choose your main?

I know that for many people the choice comes down to the fighting style you like the most or the appearance of the character (or how strong the character is if you are some sweaty soulless tryhard ^^), but what exactly do you like about the way your main fights or looks? Or may be this is not the case and you enjoy your main because of the lore, his voice lines or you just like his/her name? Would like to listen to your stories.

As for me i haven't played any other DOA games and this part is the one that introduced me to the series. I chose Tina for 2 reasons. First of all she has the twisting throw similar to King's Tijuana Twister. And King is my favourite Tekken character. And second the moment I saw her butt to the face special move (or whatever its called) shouting out "Rock'N'Roll, Baby" I knew she is my waifu.

Well to me its always been personality! It goes with the way a character looks and moves. Also if he or she was in previous games who I enjoy playing as.

Mila legitimately has the perfect playstyle and moveset for me. She can range with her really long limbs, bait out holds, and punish steps with her good tracking. She has very simple, high damage setups, has a 50/50, beat out over aggressive foes with an offensive hold, and bait throws with her feint. Only thing I would change to her is give her back her sidestep takedown and make her a bit heavier, but Mila is perfect in almost every other way.

Used to play Christie/Kasumi a lot when I first started because they were both pretty easy to play. But I was very predictable with them and I found myself getting countered by holds a lot. Also didn't like the fact that I had to get in a ton of hits just to do a decent amount of damage.

Decided I would try the other end of the spectrum and switched over to Bass since he doesn't need long or flashy combos to get the job done. Once I saw how much damage his rising 64p+h did on hi-counter and figured out how to do it consistently, I've stuck with Bass ever since.

I choose my mains in games based on looks mostly. I'm a very shallow person. I only play Kasumi cuz I loved her since the dreamcast days. She's the most beautiful girl in video game history and that's why I love her/use her.

Plus I have fapped to her countless times already and still do <3

I'd been out of fighting games for ten-twenty years when I jumped back in for 5, and wanted the most defensive character I could find, to offset my unfamiliarity with everything.

Had seen some of Emp.Cow's vids, so picked Leifang. No regrets at all.

She's taken a bit of a nerf in 6, but I had no issues getting my 50 wins for the achievement. Gonna spend my time adjusting, then jump back into ranked when the balance patches have settled and the meta makes a bit more sense.

My main was Hayate for a while
then I switched to Kasu

I played DOA4 Demo on Xbox360, and I found that Brad Wong fights like Jackie Chan's Drunken Master.

I enjoyed how he is played, mix-ups, unpredictable, and insane 50/50s. I just repeat the same move until my opponent is conditioned (time for big punish ehueheuheuehue).

If it wasn't for Brad Wong, I might go with Hitomi (Basic style) or Bayman who looked like James Bond.

Yeah, and her fighting style does a great job of showing off her legs - especially her classic outfit (which also shows off her rear quite well). I don't think that I'd consider her the most beautiful girl in the game (I'd probably say that that's Kokoro), but she's very shapely and attractive, and her fighting style combined with most of her outfits show that off better than happens with most of the girls in the game.

I also quite like Kasumi's fighting style from how it works (in addition to how good it looks). Too many of the other characters seem to move annoyingly slowly, and I'm not a big fan of playing grappler characters like a number of them are. So, Kasumi's fighting style and how good she looks while doing it are why I went with her.

I love all of Nyotengu's throw animations, especially her grab on mid-air opponents where she swings them around with one hand.
