To unlock a costume, you must farm "costume parts". One costume needs around 500-1000 of these parts. For one win in arcade mode (that's 10 battles of 2 rounds) you get one piece. One. As in 1/500. Or 1/1000.
And that one piece is for a random costume. Not even random costume of a character you play as. Just random. Of any costume in this game.
And then if by some miracle you manage to get all the parts of one costume, you still need to purchase it with yet another ingame currency.
That's not my idea of fun by a longshot.
Now, about lobbies. You're really downplaying this. Not having the ability to play a fighting game with your friends is not a small thing. I for once couldn't care less about random people in ranked matches. I only want to play with friends, for fun. Cuz, you know, that's what the games are for. Fun.
And you know, not having lobbies at launch wouldn't be a HUGE deal if it wasn't their 2nd strike. DoA5 still doesn't have them, despite their promises of adding lobbies.
So, until I actually see them in the game - I won't believe it. It is a missing feature and it's a huge feature.
Season Pass... meh... take it or leave it. I hate the price, obviously, but I bought almost all the DoA5 DLC over the course of years when they went on sales. So it's not a big deal. But you have to agree that the price is outrageous and what's more - it's not just the costumes.
They actually cut the characters from the game (specifically, Phase 4 and Nyotengu) to put them as Deluxe Edition and Preorder bonus respectively. Surely they will sell them sepparately at a later date, but it IS content that was free in DoA5 and was cut just to make more money.
Now, Mai - I can understand. She was a DLC character in DoA5 and is a DLC character in DoA6. It's fine. But the rest? Not so much.
I haven't played previous DoA's but i really like the characters. I would get into it if it was cheaper.
The lobby, yeah i am overlooking it here, i know. Its honestly i just don't have friends on steam who play DOA... so i struggle to sympathise with this one for the hate. I know that's just me and respect people do have groups to play with, honestly this is just me being selfish, but they are apprently coming...
I agree the characters behind deluxe was bad, i got deluxe i admit for these but i wasn't to fussed about it. As for season, i wont buy it, maybe cheaply but i think others should be the same, if you must get it, if not leave it.
The only thing I absolutely hate
It's dumb and grindy even if you say you can farm it at the DoA quests because of its RNG nature
Also, have you ever find yourself getting 500 part for a 100 part junk costume? That ♥♥♥♥ hurts
What happened to clearing challenges, stories, achievements, etc to unlock more of your favorite characters? Why can't I just ignore all those characters I don't care about? Why am I getting all male costume parts when the only one I wanted is Marie's school costume?
The gameplay looks fun to me. But not 70€ fun. And this is one of those very few games who cost the exact same at key selling websites.
Usually games are 50€ or 60€ tops over here.
I would love getting into it but not at this price.
PC and console all have the same features and are missing the same features.
The PC version is actually the most stable, and performs the best.
The people freaking out have no idea what they're talking about.
This... I am having fun playing.
I don't defend a bad game, especially if i buy it, i agree thoughts should be heard and get some people are upset, but no one is saying the game plays good and its fun... just it costs a lot for dlc no one cares about.
I would agree on the Grindy nature but Personally...every base unlockable outfit is ♥♥♥♥. the only ones im actually trying for is Diego and NiCO. And Diego's base outfit is fine. NiCO...well i would like a new outfit but otherwise My only Gripe and Correct me if Im wrong, but you cant choose Which outfit part to work on. it seems random. That IMO is complete ♥♥♥♥ and its such a High number on them too BUT DOA quest do give large amounts for rather simple quests.
Lobbies...Personally I don't care. I don't play MP in Fighting games. Everyone one is a overly sweaty tryhard and makes it unfun. Only time i actually have fun sweating in a Fighting game is when i'm VS friends But on PC none of my friends play fighting games so i'm basically alone here.
But and again correct me if im wrong but Can you at least just directly fight against friends here or is it forced random. I rather not waste any of my time with the MP mode to find out myself...not that i have anyone to try it with anyway.
Yeah the season pass is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at that price. But well who is compulsive enough to go buying Every single Cosmetic even for characters they don't use often or even like. hell even with characters i like I wont buy EVERY outfit just the ones I Want. which is what everyone should do. Pick and choose unless your that obsessive of having Every Single Thing unlocked.
True, it should ideally have at least launched with a better sale to get the numbers rolling. My concern is it dying fast, i love playing DOA long term but i am average at best, not a counter queen like the masters, so i don't wanna be stuck with 200 players before march ends lol. Lower price would of definetly shipped more numbers.
