Tamaki is the Venus Vacation character coming to DoA 6

Thanks to vagonumero13[www.freestepdodge.com] over at FSD we now can see the voice files added in the last patch.

Main files of note are:

• fv_skd_jp_doa6_appeal_mitorechatta
  
• fv_skd_jp_doa6_battle_fa_kanjitene
  
• fv_skd_jp_doa6_appeal_konyawanomuzo

According to Blue Eyes White Coffee (an Avid VV player) "mitorechatta dame yo" is one of the phrases which Tamaki uses. Another one is "Kanjitene" during her burst animation (in VV) and finally, the phrase "konyawanomuzo" (I'mma drink tonight) is another indication (it's her taunt in VV, appeal is the taunt button in DoA 6) and Tamaki is known for her drinking habits in VV. The others are mostly universal. So it's pretty much confirmed to be Tamaki.

They also have voice recordings from him in relation to all that story they had to cut from the game due to budget/time. So maybe they also have other voice files never even used. I've looked at the voice files myself quite a few times for the characters and there are a lot of unused recordings for battle sounds and of course, Tag mode. So who knows what else they have XD

Ishizuka was also the replacement for Daisuke Gōri who voiced Heihachi in Tekken. I would imagine if they plan for Brad to return they will just recast the role in that game. No point in paying more money for lines that are already recorded in this one (unless they do it for DoA 6 Ultimate?)

Ordinarily I'd agree, but video games don't have the same labyrinthine and costly rules about actor royalties. Usually a voice actor gets paid once for the lines they've recorded, so it shouldn't be that expensive. Well, not unless the next actor to play Brad is an A-list celebrity, or unless the laws for voice actor compensation are different in Japan than the American ones I'm (slightly) more familiar with.

I'd say Kasumi is more of a brunette than a redhead, or at least in the middle of both of them. It's one of those tricky colours because it looks both light brown and orange at the same time.

Well, there's also the fact the wiki doesn't have a set colour, either, as it's been both orange and brown in differing games.

Well, Tamaki was the second-least-bad option after Nagisa. I don't love the character, but three things I respect about her design: 1. Her anime hair color at least looks like a realistic dye job; 2. She doesn't use the cookie cutter DoA body model; and 3. I like that the character's personality is actively flirty and sexual, as opposed to sexualized against her will. There are surprisingly few characters like that in DoA. Really only Mai, who is a guest, and then there's a few like Christie and Rachel who do the victimizing rather than be the victim.

I just wish Tamaki looked a year or two older. She's almost not creepy. But "almost not creepy" was the best it was ever going to get with the Venus Vacation cast. Maybe she'll have a cool sense of style if she gets a chance to wear something besides bikinis and fetish costumes. That and a good fighting style might win me over.

In this video at ~1:27 it's said that Tamaki is tentatively going to play like a luchador, which I found weird since we already have Lisa for being a luchador, so idk if this is right, buuuut that seems to be the only lead on her style so far lol.

Kanna has 1 and 3. Well, she tries really hard to be number 3 and that makes her cute, not sexy, but cuteness is still attractive to many people.

You clearly don't understand the genre or even like this genre.

While that is an agreeable take on Leon, Gen Fu, and Eliot, it's odd that someone would play DOA but be repulsed by weeb trash. It seems to me that trashy, weeby, unpretentious fun is an integral part of the DOA series. The tone of the series is very much rooted in a combination of kung fu cinema and sexploitation.

Hmm I disagree on DoA being a "weeb franchise" because that implies that Koei Tecmo acknowledges that demographic when really their aim is to cater to the Otaku crowd at home for the most part (now anyway). The fact that there is an overlap in "weeb" interests is a mere coincidence.

And formerly, under Itagaki whilst there were some inherent anime tropes (as expected from a game developed in Japan), the main appeal was the mix with more Western elements, like Aerosmith or Dennis Rodman (Zack). Even if you look at the original release of5 post Itagaki they added more down to earth characters like Rig and Mila (though you could also argue some characters regressed into moeblob territory here too). I do feel like the series has lost its depth a little in terms of character development
