I have nothing against people who love fan service or giant juggs swinging on their monitors/TVs, but I always felt that the game had it's own aesthetic, rythm, that made it different from SF, SC, VF and Tekken. And it wasn't about boob physics.
As far as I can see, DoA6 is still super-sexualized. Gals have fantastic bodies and revealing costumes.
Aesthetically, it's always set itself apart with bright, colourful stages and cool stage transitions. The boob physics was what they used to market the game though. They've been moving away from that more recently, but it has always been a staple no matter what way you put it.
I would argue against DoA6 being sexualised, in terms of the females anyway. Kasumi is in more conservative "combat" gear and Helena is in traditional dress that accompanies her fighting style. The "cleavage window" is smaller too. In terms of bodies the proportions have been redone to make them "more realistic".
In terms of the men though, they're Hella sexualised. They're all super jacket and showing off their abs. Unfortunately for them though, being jacked doesn't mean you can have a navel. None of them do XD
Edit: I don't get how you can say:
In your OP and then complain about it being "super-sexualised" in a subsequent reply. Sounds a bit contradictory. Maybe I'm picking that up as a complaint wrongly, though.
There's nothing contradictory about my post. I'm not complaining about them still being sexualized. It's just not the focus this time and more in line with other fighting games, that have sexy females and males. More realistic proportions are welcomed too. I'm just glad that fan service isn't the main focus now. I'm noting that the characters still look great, unless you specifically want something extremely revealing or bouncy.
I half agree, personally i always played DOA5LR for it's fighting mechanics and because i think that it's the best fighting game to date, to me DOA isn't just fanservice, besides fanservice it's just a bonus and it can't be the core feature of a "FIGHTING GAME", DOA6 is doing great.
Merely skin being visible isn't enough to argue that Helena is sexualised. Nor is Kasumi being in a combat outfit which subsequently accentuates her form.
If you didn't think of it as a fighting game all this time, then that's your own problem. There is no rule that says that fighting games can't also be sexy.
But DOA6 as it stands now is not EVO worthy considering the new additions to the fighting system really take away from the unique and entertaining experience of DOA.
Not really.
DOA6 has an auto combo system, not very competitive, and it's repetitive and boring to see the same combo over and over again, and the combo is not even a cinematic, it's dull and uninteresting.
DOA5 was more EVO material than DOA6 as it is right now.
Not very competitive? not EVO material? boring and uninteresting? Not really :D look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hU0dfjlB7V4 look at how many peoples are there watching the game, nobody looks bored :D and by looking at the fights it's clear like water that the game is very competitive.
The auto combos in dragon ball are just short strings anyway, they can be mixed up in manual combos.
Everything DOA6 is doing is uninteresting with the fighting system.
The viewing numbers were complete trash, hardly anyone one cares about this game right now.
The auto combo in DoA 6 can be used in mix ups too as evidenced in the Evo stream they did for it. So, still, moot point XD
The Fatal Rush in DoA6 is just the "mandatory" catering to casuals. I might not necessarily be on board with it, especially since it's replacing one of the existing mapped commands but it "has" to be there so I guess I can accept it.
