So this is something that is happening regardless if one gets the JP or ENG release of the game?
If so, then i suppose DoA will never see a proper release on PC, because i cant honestly see any DoA game selling well without the fanservice.
I think it will still be released on PC regardless of sales, the steam page is already exist. Canceling it will be very very embarassing.
i checked their tweeter a while ago, 2 people says their EVO streams is quite lonely. 1st dude says it's the smallest viewership, the other says it's almost death.
Personally, I feel it's too early to scream censorship because they've only shown off 2 costumes and revealed 2 female characters. Although the males are as fanservice like as ever, costume wise
Personally, I'm watching only DoA on EVO. DoA6 is the most anticipated game for me for now. People are pretty positive on streams, and they said current DoA side-tournament on EVO is the biggest they had ever before. Don't compare DoA to other titles. It was always pretty niche. Btw, DoA streams are running on a lot of platforms. Such as Twitch, Youtube, Facebook and even Twitter. I'm watching on Youtube, btw.
Basically, the lack of any characters I like to play being revealed is mainly what's holding back my hype
Call me paranoid, but their deliberate use of language and if even Kotaku is singing the praises of DOA then you kinda have to appreciate they are specifically censoring their game to get in with a certain audience. A tiny audience that will not buy the game and probably continue to lambast it with disdain for not doing more/sooner.
As much as it has wanted into the big boys club, DOA has always been a bit of a laughing stock to the FGC: never complex enough, interactive stages having an impact on games and heavily reliance on visuals. I doubt that even with all these changes they've made to try and make it more esports friendly -- gameplay and graphically -- will get it anywhere.
And since they've alienated their much larger, more casual, eye-candy wanting audience I fully expect this game to just bomb: they'll release a "core fighters"-like f2p mode a few months after release and probably dial back and release some sexy costume/re-enable jiggle physics dlc soon after. The media will call gamers immature and talk about how it failed because gamers are all horny teenage boys and this didn't give them a big enough boner and/or misogyny.
Team Ninja know full well what they're doing and why, they just fail to understand that it won't work. You would've thought the massive clamour surrounding their decision to not release DOAX3 in the west might've tipped them off that vanishingly few people care about what the puritanical games media thinks or that they represent their fans.
Diego is, btw, IMHO, good addition to the series, that really brings diversity for the roster.
Also Marie Rose is an adult. I get what you mean though. I guess you're thinking more like Lars from Tekken? Personally I'm not a fan. I think with this entry they're going for a more diverse cast of characters. Whilst traditionally I think your idea is cool, I'm not sure how such a character would fit into DoA. It's kinda like asking for them to add an English character that's a Knight XD
So yes, the Japanese version is getting toned down too.
I'll try and dig it up...
No, don't worry about it, the game is just becoming a bit more serious, nothing else.
She's 18.
