You must not be able to enjoy Minecraft youtubers, Sam Hyde or anything by Tom Green.

Otherwise you're good to go.

Puzzles, so far, are easier than the first game. At any rate, if you find yourself stuck and you aren't enjoying a particular puzzle, you CAN look up the solution or ask for a hint. There's no shame in that.

"Smart" is a practiced skill, not a fixed stat. You get "smarter" by playing and solving puzzles! When I first started TTP1, I had to look up how to solve the very first puzzle with two jammers and two gates, because I didn't realize I could jam the same gate twice from different sides, and struggled with a few other things. By the time I played Road to Gehenna (which is notoriously full of much more difficult puzzles than vanilla TTP1), I didn't have to look up anything. Try it! No matter how challenging you find it at first, it will become easier.

Absolutely!

Though ceilings differ from one person to the next.

It's actually much cooler than that. Having played TTP1 and TTP2 myself several times, streaming both for a friend (who contributed to puzzle solutions often), and getting another two friends to play TTP1 and stream their playthroughs for me, I can say with certainty that observing different people (including myself) playing these games changed how I think about people's intelligence and problem solving skills in general. Different people approach puzzles very differently and figure out/get stuck on different things, there's no single "intelligence" quantifier. I think the only true "ceiling" is patience and willingness to experiment with (re)combinatorics of puzzles.

Mostly not too bad, but I'm saying this as a "Talos veteran". There are some trickier puzzles, but you can use the in-game hint system that requires hidden collectibles to activate, or you can simply use internet guides. Both Talos games are highly recommended.

Are you of the opinion that any person/combination of people could have figured out space flight?

You will probably enjoy it more when you are not too smart :) And yeah like the other guy said, it's a matter of practice too. Do you *like* puzzles at all, figuring things out? Then you should be mostly ok.

TTP puzzles aren't spaceflight. Don't be ridiculous.

What gives you that idea?

The puzzles are quite easy overall. People who are too smart and like hard puzzles, tend to get a bit disappointed.

Being smart and liking hard puzzles aren't the same. I know some people who are not very intelligent in the traditional sense and don't do well with formal education or logical tasks, but still love puzzles. I've also met programmers that do ridiculous things for fun yet hate puzzles.

You get an award for using the phrase 'thick as mince' - absolute quality, sir. Not used enough.

I don't consider myself particularly smart, and I had to 'get help' with some of the later puzzles, but that's OK - it's a game, have fun, don't let it upset you.

In terms of the story, it's pretty common sense; there's references to historical figures, allegorical concepts etc but nothing too obtuse, I don't think - and after all, you can always google that stuff.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Dumb people should play puzzle games too

Yes, people who don't end a sentence with a full stop - something taught in elementary school - should play puzzle games, too.
