"Desolate Island" is such a disaster of a World.
Seems like that World had next to zero QA or care into stopping any kind of exploiting. On every single Level you can take both tools and clones outside. And just a clone with a platform allows you to skip most Levels. Or for example I took a Jammer outside one of the Levels, and it just allows you to pretty much make every single puzzle a joke. Really weird to see that little care after all previous Worlds had very few if any kind of exploit. But in the "Desolate Island" there's tons of them. What even happened there? :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

I managed to get 2 clones out with a platform and a cube in desolate island. I used them to jump into the golden gate puzzle early and now I'm stuck. It won't let me complete it and when I reset it starts me inside the puzzle again. Ahhhh I don't want to start all over lol
reset checkpoint should put you outside puzzles. (its not the same as the key command "reset")
Tried that but didn't work. Posted the solution above though

Exploit is a glitch, more exploits = worse design. The difficulty of performing the exploit also matters, if it's really easy to do then it's even worse.

Those clones won't be interactable though. As for the tools, good luck getting them into other puzzles.

I was able to bring a clone outside a puzzle, and I could even switch to it, up until I entered another puzzle. My joy was short-lived.
I figured it out. As long as you get them out without touching the purple wall then you can interact with them. As soon as you go through any purple wall it deactivates them. Really easy to do on puzzle 4 of desolate island. So if you wanted to exploit it you would have to go back to puzzle 4 every time you solve another puzzle because it would deactivate them once you finished. Obviously would be dumb to do lol rather than just solving the puzzles

Some puzzles in this game deliberately allow - or even require - you to break them and smuggle stuff out. There's a Prometheus Spark in N3 for example that you can only get by smuggling an item out of a puzzle.

No Prometheus spark requires an out-of-puzzle item. I got them all legit.

How did you get the one in N3 that's on an elevated platform that needs a button next to it pushed down for the fan to work? Borrowing an item from puzzle 4 seems like the intended solution since it lets you build over the purple wall.

It seems like you're the only person to understand what I'm talking about, for some reason. Regardless of who uses them, they shouldn't be a thing, as it just defeats the purpose of things like the purple shield, or walls in general.
That World is the only one where you can get stuff outside on every single Level. Which is weird.

I don't remember how that one went and I can't reset to check, but I don't remember ever using items brought out of puzzles.

I understand. For me it's very similar to enabling modding. It breaks the framework that's needed for there to be a challenge, so then the challenge must be self-imposed.

Enabling modding is not the same as keeping exploits in, mods aren't pre-baked into the game and have to be separately downloaded, thus are not part of the game.

There's a weird little robot guy nearby to that button whom you can activate and he goes and stands on the button for you. Very odd and not done anywhere else

This discussion about exploits, and what makes good or bad design, and whether a player should use self-control to avoid an easy workaround... all of it sounds REMARKABLY like a philosophical squabble on the robot social media within the game. :-D

I was going to post the same thread, lol. Look at the puzzle where you can literally just walk around the back and jump through the window. How did that get past testing? There's also 2 puzzles you can just jump into and instantly complete, no tool smuggling needed for those.

Oh that one was funny. I was sure you had to smuggle something out from a level but decided too have 4th look around too see if maybe a long lucky jump could do it. Then i saw the solution. Real clever! :lunar2019grinningpig:
