TP2 Demo gameplay is amazing like expected, BUT UE5 and the OST not so much.
UE5 and expecially the OST are imho big misses.

Dear Devs,

gameplay wise TP2 is really really good, you guys are great masterminds.

But do you guys know, a big part from the gaming experience of TP1 came from the magic spherical OST and even from the female time capsule voice by giving players this special feeling while playing your game?
TP2 OST sounds like generic general midi sound back from the old days, there is nothing special to it, except i want to switch it off all the time.
Please give us the option to use TP1 OST for TP2, or something else.
This generic OST detroys the whole gaming experience.

Next point is much more subjective and maybe only my personal opinion.
UE5 is an sterile looking engine, at the first look all seems very nice, but on the second look, you know exactly you´re only playing a video game. Lightning and Shadow rendering is bad and the whole world is looking "unreal" ;) and it does not justify the system resources required for this.
The Serious Engine in TP1 was much more beefy looking and got this special vibrant colors with clear edges without loosing the organic look and much more believable lightning, vegetation, like trees, grass and flowers.

I have bad news, man, this idea of clear graphics is going to become less and less common in video games. Now it's all about realistic lighting using sophisticated techniques that are so hard on computers that you need algorithms to interpret the original image and try to turn it into something believable to us humans. Then start paying more attention to modern games. You'll notice that the idea of visual clarity is disappearing. TP2 is a prime example, at one point I went to clean my glasses because some things seemed strangely out of focus at certain moments.

Now tell me, how do you think the lighting in TP2 is less believable than in TP1? This shows a huge lack of observation capacity on your part, in fact it is precisely because we now have extremely realistic lighting using ray tracing principles for a much more believable result that modern games have to make compromises like fake resolution, fake frames, fake everything, which end up degrading the final image in a way that didn't happen in old games.

I noticed in the OST that a particular sample is either public domain (royalty free) or taken from another game: X4: Foundations (Cradle of Humanity DLC).

That took me out of it big time.

Dude , the music is awful in comparison to TP1.
Dude, you're going to need some more tangible arguments to prove your point, except for "music bad cuz I feel like I want to switch it off". And I like how you don't even mention that your music taste in this case might be very subjective, especially seeing how many people don't agree with you on that.

Ugh, as much as I would LOVE to easily prove you wrong by spamming you with positive reviews about the music (based on how people already love it), I feel like you're just going to shrug it off as people "being wrong" or "having poor taste", similar to what you seem to promote here.

Most developers, even the big ones are starting to switch to Unreal

- It is cheaper in the long run

- It gives way less engine specific bugs that need to fixed on engine level

- New developers joining a company (temporary) or help from other studios is easier because Unreal knowhow is easy to find

- The Unity price debacle will drive other developers to Unreal

- Unreal games look generally very good out of the box

- Even big studios are dropping their engines they have spend millions on like RedEngine from Cyberpunk. And also other engines like Creation Engine are heavily under fire because they feel and look extremely underdeveloped compared to UE

Don't bother reasoning with the OP. He simply has some personal issues with the music and graphics, but can't explain them because he doesn't know anything about music or game engines. He hasn't made a single solid argument besides that one screenshot of bad tree textures (where he didn't even mention his settings). Saying that the lighting is "completely off and wrong" is hilarious in a game that uses RTGI.

This is exactly my point.
Most of the music sounds like it was grabbed from a licence free public domain database - some is so bad by sounding like generic general midi files which takes normally place in a walmart elevator.
The whole OST does not fit into the game. The mostly short soundbeat rhythms make the player feel restless and nervous instead calm and mentally focused like TP1 OST does.
This is a fatal design flaw and it destroys the whole gaming experience for me.

Why even bother having a discussion about the OST? They clearly wouldn't put some kind of placeholder music into the demo just to piss people off and change it later, would they? It's obvious that the music is going to be the actual music. In your second argument, judging the choice of UE5, you mentioned it's your opinion - which is fine, but don't you think it's unfair to call their OST "crappy elevator music" just because you dislike it? Where's the "personal opinion" disclaimer on that part of the post? Personally, I do actually like it and I feel like it takes some of the elements of TTP1's OST, and combines it with the breath of fresh air that the other parts of TTP2 also received. New mechanics = new graphics = new music. I wouldn't've had a problem with this forum post if you weren't so agressive about it - they're not obliged to create the game you wanted, they can do whatever they want - artistic decisions. You people need to understand what opinions are and how to convey them without being aggressive, ungrateful and an annoying person. And that applies not only to you, OP.

You are free to dislike the game's music, as you are to dislike every other aspect of it, but please do not make such absurd and offensive claims about Damjan's work.
