This vs Fractured Space?
So far I have played little but I am already liking Fractured Spaces UI a bit more, The fact that you can strafe side to side in FS and not here is a little annoying, You coast even less in this game. I do though like some of the greater tactical capabilites, such as modifiying you power distribution, even if it limited to a short amount of time per setting, (weapons, shields/armor, and engines) ..

So I wonder who else has played both and what are your thoughts on either and possible ways that Dreadnought here can be improved upon?

I heard somewhere that both game have the same origin, but at one point they branched out into different directions.

Both games deserve attention. Dreadnought is tier based, FS is not. Dreadnought has a rather simplified gameplay, FS has some more depth in it. Dreadnought ships fly near the surface, FS ships fly in space. FS has some moba elements, Dreadnought is a classic deathmatch. Ship design differ. Dreadnought ships are more futuristic and slick. FS ships are more realistic and less futuristic. Both games use unreal engine. Dreadnought is also available on PS4, FS is PC only afaik.

Another thing is FS has a robust crew customization with skills, voice overs and personalities. Really cool feature. Dreadnouhgt devs promsied something liek this a long time ago. Nothings changed in this regard.

There is one huge difference: FS is a MOBA.

In a nutshell: Mostly the same difference, but FS maps offer more complex gameplay.
Dreadnought is like a light-weight FS.

In this game broadside is skill, in FS it will be just a primary weapon. And like other said, FS is more complex.

*nods* I have noticed that I so far do prefer a lot of the features and mechanics usage that FS has, Not that Dreadnought doesn't have it's own merits. *scratches chin* Now if only I had a team of my own to show them both how this should be done. *chuckles* However "FS Lite" isn't a bad thing and could be fun. But more along the lines of War Thunder fun versus Flight Combat Simulators fun.

Anyone remember a game called Nexus: Jupiter Incident ? ... that had some nice space combat, though again no "drift".

There aren't that many games doing this so you have little to choose from. All I want to say is you can't be too picky.

Still I cant help but to see Dreadnought as a "cash shop with an average game wrapped around it".
Not bad, but also no real reason to invest any money into it.
For 4 years of development is this rather underwhelming, imo.

That's not true at all. There is no connection between the games at all. This pops up every once and awhile. The Devs have confirmed that it's total BS.

this all the way

I found fs hard to get into. The structure new an returning players are forced to follow is not nice. The player base was too small at the time an coming back i see they’ve made it harder for low level players to engage in pvp. Fs also has more microtransactions an i found them constantly pushed on you. Fs is better in gameplay, but i prefer complex games so it suits me. If fs was less microtransactioned an had a decent player base. It would beat dreadnoughts. Dreadnoughts is a good game tho fp.

people said it all.....my 2 cents i didnt like fractured space at all, but i do like DN.
T1 and 2 is even for newbies very fun and rewarding imo.....while in fractured space i was done after just an hour.

If you like the idea of games like WoT,WoWS ect you will like DN more if you more of an moba type player you will like fractured space more imo.

Same here. I found fs was hard to get into and wasnt user friendly at all

I've played both. Granted, dreadnought for less than an hour because of maintenance, but still.

Fractured space sucked. And i wanted to like it. Unless they improved like... everything since i last played, it's nowhere near as good as dreadnought. However... Dreadnought has a ton of weird issues, terrible UI, and it's already down for maintenance the day after launch.

Lets hope the dreadnought team can step it up.

i played dreadnought already for a long time in the beta and rly like it.
You can customize your ships with much more weapons and you can play every ship very different, with many ways to get an induvidual play style.
FS use a very small amount of different ships and weapons compared to dreadnought.

What i miss in FS is a real healer/support class too, Support ships in Dreadnought are able to be much more helpfull to support other players.
