Takemikazuchi (spoilers)
Thor tells you to seek someone who controls storms for a hammer upgrade, but the two obvious people (Indra and Set) are both red herrings. the power band is in fact in Takemikazuchi's room. This wouldn't be a bad thing, if it weren't for the fact that after multiple playthroughs i haven't managed to find a single mention of the fact that Takemikazuchi controlled storms within the game itself. In a game where all the information necessary to solve puzzles is mentioned somewhere, it seems incredibly odd to me that this hint requires actual knowledge about japanese mythology to be useful. It's entirely possible that i just missed something, of course.

Aye, I think it was the first 1st child's wife. The one that is always posing, in the room with the 3-soul gate.

Three obvious people, actually: Indra, Set, and the Dark Star Lord. All of them wrong.

Anyway: Ajisukitakahikone is the God of Thunder in Japanese Mythology, not a Doppelganger. The idea of him being a Doppelganger comes from a particular myth where he is mistaken for his deceased friend Ame-Waka-Hiko.

In La-Mulanese lore, Ajisukitakahikone has the power of thunder stolen from him by Takemikazuchi. This serves as a dual hint: first, it suggests that Takemikazuchi can help you unlock the power of storms, and it also suggests that this is the way to defeat Ajisukitakahikone, since it's the one power he lacks.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ apparently gives this hint under certain conditions, but I don't know what they are. I've never seen the line in question, I only know about it because someone showed me a screenshot on the La-Mulana 2 subreddit.

From what I hear, *many* NPCs have different dialogue after you talk to Modgud for the first time. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ may be one of them. In version 1.0.0.0, the only version I've played through, it was possible to talk to Modgud extremely early in the game, which I did. Kill Nidhogg with shuriken and patience, get Claw, swing past the icy columns, done. Thus, I had NPCs talking my ear off about the Underworld all game, long before it was time for me to actually go there, and when the time came for me to go I assumed it was still a while off yet.

I hear Modgud was later switched with Inanna, who is in a much more inaccessible location (requires the Life Seal, IIRC). This is a good change.
