Any hint on how to take the contents of the chest that opens when you defeat Belial? Everytime I touch it I die. I'm guessing there's some sort of mantra?

You need to get unrelated story progression. I'm unsure what triggers it, so just do all the things.

It's an upgrade for the Mjolnir, but I don't think it's strictly necessary for beating the game.

Damn, I've messed around trying to upgrade the Mjolnir before for a while too. Tried filling it up with lighting bolts from both Indra and Set, but that's not doing it. Hint?

You need an unrelated item from an event that noone knows how to trigger. Well I guess it is technically related because it opens the chest, but you basically have to do other things until you get it.

Relevant tablet is in Icefire Treetop I think its to the right of the grail warp.
