Majima drastic character change

So I finished the game and I'm now onto the next game, I don't know about you guys but do you think Majima's character changed drastically since Yakuza 0?

I'm confused cause when I looked it up, I was told to play Yakuza 0 first, then Kiwami, Kiwami 2, 3,4,5,6,Judgement, 7,lost judgement, ishin and finally 8

You should play in that order, but yeah majima is different, but he doesnt change from 0 to kiwam1, he actually goes back to his true self from 0 to kiwami, his out of character change was actually pre-0 until 0 after the ueno seiwa massacre saejima did and majima got forced into labour under shimano as payback

People give bad advice. Creative works have a greater coherency in the order they were created in than in the order they are set in their internal timelines. The Kiwamis didn't really undo that effect. The Majima in 0 has gone through a 10 year process of elaboration and creative flanderisation in the games preceding it, so his portrayal is bound to feel different beyond what the narrative attempted. In essence, you're playing the games that were still developing his character after a game that already had him developed.

He says at the end of 0 that he's going to live wild and crazier than anyone else, he was inspired by Nishitani and inherited his personality traits, even his beard was inspired by him
