Waiting for Kiwami 3

I am currently in my Yakuza playthrough. Played 0 and 7 so far and now i am in Kiwami. Does it make sense to wait for Kiwami 3 or is it better to play the OG? I am a bit scared that the OG it too outdated for my taste.

Og is a charming game and its a great story with a good final boss. Who cares about the outdated gameplay when the charm is there. This is coming from someone who 100%ed 0 kiwami 1 and 2, hell if they remastered kenzan id play that

I think it's unlikely that there will ever be a Kiwami 3, just play the remaster.

The devs already said that there will be a Kiwami 3, probably in early 2025. Maybe a bit later but Kiwami 3 will happen. In a new edition of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio TV, series director Masayoshi Yokoyama explained that the team has final plans for a Kiwami reboot of the third series entry.

“I just want to say that we will do a Kiwami 3 at some point,” said Yokoyama. “I think sooner or later we will definitely get it.”

Just plat the OG. don't listen to the combat being hard. they are just scrubs who can't do anything other than mindless button mashing. although clunky but yakuza 3 combat is fine. you need to use your head to get around the enemy defense because the enemy won't just stand there like an idiot waiting to get pucnh in the face

Kiwami 3 won't happening until at least late 2025 or even 2026, so if you have patience to wait one or two years then go for it i guess

Agreed, i 100%ed 3 and liked the combat, the trick to liking 3 is to wait atleast 3 months after beating kiwami 2 to play 3, if you play straight after 2 you wont enjoy the gameplay downgrade

It would not really be a "waiting" since i would play Judgment in the meantime. Or Ishin, lol.
