MesuKing: Can't Beat Nobuo

I have tried to fight this kid so many times, I'm starting to consider skipping this part of the game. There doesn't seem to be any real strategy to it. Because he always uses the scissor type, I go with the rock type, but no matter what he seems to pick the perfect opposite of whatever I choose. I dunno what to do about him.

pray to RNGesus. Serious answer would be, you should not pick offense cards and use counter cards instead. From what i learned after beating professor is that he doesnt even use any of the offense card and uses cards like counter attack, counter heal etc. I forgot the details of each cards but you should be able to piece together what i just said

Well, almost immediately after posting my complaint, I DID manage to beat him with very minor strategy. Since he seemed to be ready for me to use a rock type, I switched to paper and just kept using rock and scissors instead. Seems like the CPU anticipates you using your best move, so I was at least able to throw it off in that way.. Still hated every second of it, though.

Thanks, I'm sure I will need it. Honestly, when I played Yakuza 0, there were some substories I just didn't complete because the RNG was so bad, I was tired of waiting for it to come around to my side. I don't mind having to skip things but it is frustrating when I'm otherwise enjoying myself.

Basically you cant beat him until the beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of the little ♥♥♥♥ beforehand, then he forfeits

I have no idea what you're talking about. Nobody forfeited anything. I just won all the matches eventually.

Surprisingly, Nobuo was the only one who gave me trouble. Everyone else was fairly predictable and I beat them the first time around. Even the professor. Don't know how that happened, but I'm glad to be done with the entire ordeal. MesuKing wasn't fun; I'm just obsessed with completing as many substories as possible.
