Honestly it seems like beast is the best because you're immune to all damage in resist guard if you have it fully upgraded so long as you have your heat gauge charged up which is way faster than regaining the full strength of Dragon style. Plus you can use the amulet to increase its attack damage. It's a very noob friendly solution that I'm not ashamed to admit I've been using to cheese every instance of Majima.
If you'll manage to beat them in Beast - I'll drink to that.
Dragon is only progressable through majima everywhere in which the story needs to be done to fully complete it. Dont bother using it, use rush and beast where neccessary and upgrade those.
In kiwami 2 youll end up using dragon as the only battle style with the others sprinkled in here and there
Also yes I was talking about late game Majimas, it's easy. Just make sure you have you're in at least basic heat mode and do resist guard and tank the attacks, he can't do more than fractional damage to you which is essentially harmless. Then give him some tanky swings and repeat, keep heat raising items on you just in case he starts an attack and drops your heat in the middle of your attack, which he does quite often.
and as mentioned above - tiger drop is your best friend on Legendary difficulty
It's very easy to do this technique. Use the gauntless to make yourself practically immune to his knife, and then in resist guard you get 360 degree protection from his attacks, just swing on him when he's finished attacking. Build up heat from hitting him, then while blocking you can press Q to bear hug him once you have enough heat. Just repeat this process. You can use beast to cheese most bosses that aren't scripted to require a specific fighting style to defeat.
