controller not working properly
Hey everyone, I just started playing with an Xbox One controller but for some reason, none of the controls work. I can move around with the main stick, but not move the camera. None of the controls appear to be mapped properly either, e.g pressing the left thumb stick in to open the map and the right for the menu. The controller works fine outside of this game, and I have tried two controlls, but within the game it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

i wrote this to you in the other thread, but I'll post here too:

tippest top upper left corner of the screen is the menu bar, reads -> Steam View Games...etc
goto
Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings --->
and in here it opens a big picture mode, at the bottom of the list you should see what your controller is set as, mine says xbox controller, click on that and choose to identify. Also select the Xbox configuration from the list if it isn't already. Save and exit and it should work. sometimes steam overrides it in certain games if you use your keyboard as well.

if this doesn't work, you can try using the generic layout and if that doesn't work you can try manually setting your controller's driver to anything Xbox in device manager. if that doesn't work then you can try to force it with a program called x360ce. I've only ran into one game that required device manager route (Batman Origins) and one that required x360ce which was the "free" version of Farcry 5. 99% o fthe time it should be fixed using steam.

Did you ever find a fix? I have exactly the same problem, happened in 0 too. Could not find a fix at all. I actually found that for some reason, the camera was bound to my mouse. Had this issue with an Xbox One controller but I switched to a PS4 controller and had the same results. I would've just switched to KB&M and played that way but even that has an issue where I can't turn left.
