Why was original action suspense soundtrack removed ??

Also original had lots more profanity. The soundtrack that starts around 5 min 15 seconds plays throughout the original game while in the remake we barely hear it. Whats up?

Can't speak for the soundtrack, but the profanity wasn't removed. It's just a proper translation now, where the original us version had a godawful translation where they shoved in a bunch of extra swearing.

Thanks for clarifying the errors in translation. Guess if I knew how to find the original Japanese version I could compare the soundtracks used too. Perhaps it was changed to make it more Western action suspense. Hard to say without any proof. It would however be typical of a Hollywood film where most swears and the film have some sort of action suspense soundtrack.

They tried to hard to be pulp fiction in the localization. And the soundtrack is remixed this time, there is a patch to restore the original soundtrack and some japanese songs if you like that.

Thank you! The soundtrack Im looking for is (Action suspense) UNREST which the original played all the time: THIS! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfXp3nkG3uM its so cool and gives the game the extra charm, in Kiwami we barely here it. Has it been restored?
PS So Im not suprised the gamebase is divided in which version is better.

Thank you my friend thank you and to everyone who made this possible! I do not understand why they made their own soundtrack worse when the original was so fantastic especially when UNREST kicks in. I wonder if there will be some soundtrack issues with Kiwami 2 when they also made it worse, every Yakuza game on PC has needed soundtrack fixes so far, will Kiwami 2 have some quirks too I wonder ?

Yeah, I mean I'm fine with profanity and all but the original translation makes the game sounds like it's been written by a 10 year old who just discovered swearing and thinks it's cool and edgy to use them liberally. Does have its funny charms though. https://youtu.be/efi53dTGgF8
