This is like 500% more Quake-inspired, as was Dusk. The color palette looks almost identical and the geometry is somehow even blockier (or bloc-ier) like how it was in the olden days. :dusksickles:
It seems more like a mix between Quake and Chams: The Rift.

Dusk vibe, sure, but at the same time, Dusk is inspired by a lot of (the same) stuff.
There's a bit of Quake, Chasm, Half-Life, with even more eastern european influences on top.

What worries me is the presence of a rat enemy; not only does it look and behave almost exactly like DUSK's, but I do not understand why developers would think this kind of annoying enemy belongs in a game that is supposed to be a homage to classic 90s first-person shooters. The closest thing to an equivalent I can think of would be the Headcrab from Half-Life, but even for its day, the Headcrab looked better than that in terms of design and animation...

Uh, maybe because basically EVERY shooter of that kind had at least one enemy like this? Slimers in Duke 3D? Hornets in Shadow Warrior? Rats, bats and walking hands in Blood? Rats in Kingpin? Lost Souls in Doom? Frogs in Serious Sam? Scorpions in Chasm: The Rift? There has always been a small enemy, mostly doing low damage, but often fast and hard to hit. Annoying? Yes. But not uncommon.

Seems pretty Quake-inspired in terms of visuals and some gameplay. Considering this is actually on a custom engine made to look retro, I love this so far.

Blood had rats.

Just crouch and shoot 'em in the face. They really aren't as annoying as some people say. Not when crouching anyway.

Right. I experienced Quake 1 and Chasm The Rift and those monsters. I saw trailer HROT and those monsters are mutated from humans but they not are humans, like zombies , familiar from Your Are Empty, STALKER zombie.

Dusk dev approves of this game, so no issues on that front. It's basically Slav Dusk

Yeah. I played the demo and I still think this game is more similar to DUSK than to Quake.

Yeah i mean it's in the exact same first person perspective as DUSK is, talk about a total ripoff. Can't devs even try to be original anymore? smh :JETLem:

Slav Dusk, therefore automatically better
