Have you checked your sound settings in windows?
Right-click the speaker icon in your taskbar and open sound settings, at the bottom of the window that pops up, click on "App volume and device preferences".
Find KovaaK 2.0 in the list and make sure its volume is where you want it to be, and the output device matches other working programs.
Yes. I have checked that. I've also tried updating audio settings and there was a post on reddit that suggested 5 things to try, none of which worked. I find it truly odd that Quake's audio is fine but Kovaaks just isn't there.
I was wondering if there was a complete steam uninstall I could try ( ie all residue issues/files as well) so I could try again. One of the reasons I bought the new computer was so that I could play Kovaaks without it glitching on me (my win7 machine was slow!).
I found both steam and kovaaks in the mixer and both were set high but kovaaks made no sound.
Sorry for being a nuisance but I really would like for it to work ok. I was concerned in case my copying over the folders had caused the issue. but I've uninstalled and reinstalled steam to no avail.
How I did it.
I tried to play an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate PC game and found I had no sound and thought "Oh my god, Nothing works"
I looked to reinstall my audio driver (again).
It didn't help
I then thought of surround sound.
This worked on the Xbox PC game so I tried it with Kovaak
IT WORKED!!!!!!
So, if you're having the same problem on windows 10 then right click the audio icon, select one of the surround sound options, download it from the Microsoft store if necessary and select it. This worked for me.
Glad you have it sorted out. Thanks for providing the solution. It may help others having the same issue. Enjoy your training!
