this game is full released?
i have it on switch and i have to say... it's like a uneven plate of flattened spaghetti. it could be a nice full plate but it's just missing some things. it feels empty... hollow and flavorless.
the fishing is alright, the bug catching is alright, the mining was mid, horrendous actually. the tool upgrading was tedious and mid. the accomplished feeling of upgrading tools was 0, zilch, none, nada, non existent. the farming felt barely even touched and more like a dabble that could be dabbled into a LOT more, who likes to water each and every single plant 1 at a time? no upgrade to the water pale, just solo sprits per plant. which makes MINING even MORE useless. the animations and movements especially for the animal neighbors are dead, very unlively, no flow, just a penguin waddle where that has less life than penguin waddle.
the items you can get from store just feel like they were a portion of what the game should have, the crafting is really cool, i'm talking about furniture crafting. honestly the only thing i really like about this game is the furniture crafting. however.... there needs to be a few more shapes. add more shapes!!!! even though there's enough shapes to craft about anything, there's also not. add some flowers to the mix, add some acorns, add some fish, so you can build a fake fishtank. add more bugs, like flying beetles, cockroaches, add more bait crafting materials, like more versity in baits to be crafted, in segments, worms, bugs, fish. more fish more bugs that can be turned into bait.

i spent $20 on the game for switch, and i feel like the steam sale price is more worth it. like the game besides the crafting furniture feels like a $5 game. so $3.99 is a good price. but the price i paid... i just feel like i got rammed in the ahh by a branch. because the game feels so incomplete and just half ahh'd. it's not really enjoyable either because it feels like a job, especially when you farm... farming is trash on the game. and farming BAIT like fishbait, is a chore.... add farming daily to the fish bait farming, IT SUCKSSSS.

and plants that usually produce multiple harvests, like grapes, tomatoes, corn are singular harvest and gone. your plant is done, replant.... that is so dog water dude.

here's my take on Hokko Life. and the flattened plate of barely even covering HALF the plate of spaghetti it is. that's a metaphor for the game feels absolutely incomplete.

hopefully this game will continue to get developed like terraria/ stardew valley. it has some real promise. but in the current state... oof it's a heavily not recommended unless you like to craft furniture/ objects.

I am not trying to invalidate your viewpoint or anything, but I am wondering how different the Switch version is from the PC version... I know there had to be differences for consoles because of the constraints of the systems, but I don't know the extent.

In the PC version, upgrading tools allows new areas to be accessed and more valuable resources to be harvested. Does that not give you a feeling of accomplishment or is that not in the Switch version? As for watering crops one at a time, how else are they supposed to be watered? :o For crafting shapes, there are flowers and acorns, but I also would like there to be more shapes, like I would like to be able to use resources that we have harvested as building blocks. :D I also would like more variety in insects. ^_^ But I haven't even found or unlocked everything yet so there could be things I haven't seen yet.

Again, not trying to argue or anything, just trying to understand the situation accurately.

sorry late reply, i didn't care to look in the forum here. it was basically feedback/review.

yes the upgrading tools do unlock new areas. that add basically nothing. diamonds or different ores, in which ores are used for tool upgrades, but the only difference made in tool upgrades are you can mine higher level rocks, and cut harder trees, meanwhile the upgraded axe takes the same amount of chops it would take to break a level 1 pickaxe rock, the axe's all take the same amount of chops to cut down regular trees. there's no progressional feel to the tools. you'd figure regular rocks/ tree would break/fall faster with a upgraded tool. but the tool only unlocks a new rock or tree. maybe even area. and the outcome of those unlocks are simply to have more materials that can be used for furniture/ item crafting. making the outcome of the progressional unlock of that area/ new tool dog water.

how would they add watering to where it's not single plants?
make a upgraded waterpale that waters 4 plants at once, make a watering can that allows you to walk while watering getting multiple plants in a swoop. there are many ways to add non singularity in plant water. you can make a hose system for instance via shovel/ item that automatically waters your plants aka a automated hose system. you can make a shower head like watering can that can water a line of plants lets say 5 in a row. you can make a watering can that can water in the center of the field and the water spreads to nearby plants till it eventually waters a whole 3x3 radius of 9 blocks.
i shouldn't need to explain how to make farming better for a game, it's simple mathematics with simple ways to solve it.

the hose system has never been put in a game, it can water 2 blocks perpendicular of the placement, a in line watering can is in stardew, but you have to hold the can to activate it. a radius watering can that can water 1 spot filling in surrounding blocks was never added into a game.

using 5 different fish should be possible for fish bait, using 5 different butterflies should be possible for bug bait.

tools should increase in power on the lower tiered resources.

there should be more base items you can buy from shop, and clothing.

since the game focuses the most on furniture crafting, there should be more shapes, and objects. like acorns, bugs, fish, extra (relics) or w/e the things you (donate) are should be able to be used in furniture crafting.

i made a chair and it was backwards, meaning my character sat in the opposite direction.
there should be a UI element that shows sitting position in chairs, you can make a huge storage chest and make it small, but it covers the WHOLE large area of placement....... and you can't place another furniture item inside that radius. (or at least i was able to)

this game is a cash grab. don't think the developers care, they rushed the game and probably threw away the game project because they rather make a new game to farm more money from idiots who buy it.

ooh and not proof reading all this. if there's huge typos because i was thinking of a sentence/words and skipped a few. then it can be as is, hey... that's similar to the development of this game.
Ah, I see. Thank you for your explanations and clarifications.
