black screen

So I have put 106 hours into this game and don't want to delete my save file. I verified the integrity of the files and cloud save is disabled. I slept, it went to a new day and I just got a black screen. I got out of the game and tried to restart it. When I hit continue it goes to a black screen. Is there something else I can do other than delete all my work?

I followed vritto's instructions and I still have a black screen

The same thing has just happened to me. There is just a black screen which says Friday and nothing else. I had to force the game to close. Steam cloud is disabled. I think this needs to be reported as a bug.

I finally got it working, but I lost many of my items, including bridges and most of my storage and their contents. Very frustrating!

I verified the files twice again and it has started working for me. I didn't lose anything

Hey sorry to hear my instructions didn't work well for you! Sadly every black screen issue is different so that may not work for all of them like it did before with the basic issues of black screens. I'll be around on steam more now, so I'll be able to help more with these issues personally as well!

that happened to me too my file became corrupted and i had to restart from scratch there was nothing else i could do. and now my new game file is glitching.

i am having the same. it messed up my file and reset my story but all i did was still changed in the world after freezing and now it black screens every time it starts after the team 17 logos.

Hey! I'm afraid there have been so many changes and fixes to the save system in the game since last year that very old saves can't be loaded.

You'll need to remove your save data and start a-fresh, sorry!

was just playing fine today and now when i load the game up it runs fine until i hit continue and black screened into nothingness
