HOW TO UNLOCK SMALL WOOD ??? AND OPEN GEODE ???

how can i break the boulders and visit the small wood with the red trees that gives you red wood? and how to equip a crafting table to open geodes? thank you!

You have to make the bomb which if I remember correctly is a mayor reward it looks like a bomb and you have to make 10 (or 25 something I wrote this from memory) original designs and something else. Note I just made a table with a single slab at the time because I wanted to get the bomb. Later I discovered the awesomeness of the design tool. Opening a geode is done at the workbench lower bottom right it says break geode or something. When you get the bomb stand away from the pile blocking the path and use it [e] it will throw it and break open the path. I should say approach the boulders close enough to toss it then back away that is :)

10?? On mine trying to get the bomb and the new area unlocked it says I need 25...
