Ashi Wash is a truly unpleasant game. The aim is to clean an oversized and repulsive foot that has invaded your living room. It’s sporting a harsh Jersey accent and some serious fungus, corns, flies and overgrown nails that curve onto themselves. You scour your abode for the necessary supplies as a timer counts down and the hostile foot berates you. And that’s pretty much all there is to Ashi Wash. You can try to chase high scores, get all the achievements or even get up close and personal in VR. Additionally, this game was apparently influenced by a Japanese folktale which is pretty cool.

That said, I’d like to propose Ashi Wash as the new videogame gag gift standard. No longer should we have to settle for bargain bin fodder like Bad Rats. Ashi Wash is grating and inexpensive but it’s also deliberate, well-crafted and genuinely fun. So next time you’re looking to share a laugh with friends, look to this game.

Ashi Wash is a hilarious game that involves a giant, sentient foot smashing through your house. The only way to win is to clean him within the three minute time limit. The gameplay is polished and spot on. From grabbing tools and using them, to running around the house frantically trying to search for what you need. The tools themsevles shimmer, which makes the game a lot easier to differientate between a cleaning tool and a decoration.

As for the effectiveness of the tools, the only one I had really bad problems with was the fly swatter. I think the problem with the flies is that they are moving along with the giant foot and the fly swatter itself is super tiny. For some reason the aiming is super off and it takes me 10+ attempts to swat one fly. I mean if the developers are going for a realistic experience, then great, but from a gameplay standpoint it really does hamper the experience. Making the swatter bigger would be a great improvement.

As for the Foot itself. He's hilarious. While you're frantically trying to search for tools or clean him, he'll make funny quips and remarks about himself. His toes are also very animated and smooth - accurately depicting a foot! I definitely think that people who love feet will enjoy this little game.

If there's a few improvements I could suggest -
- Improving the accuracy of the fly swatter. The fly swatter itself is too unpredictable and takes away too much time.
- Breaking out the different tools and features into levels that combine with each other as the levels go up. For example, level one could have just the toe nail clipper where level four could have all the tools combined.
- Giving the foot more fun quips or story based things to say would be fun.
- For a big, stinky foot - he definitely is pretty clean - save for the obstalces you need to get off him. Perhaps adding yellow or green gassy substances emanating from him? Or maybe adding sweat or dirt around the soles area. I could even see a sponge being a new tool or level.

Overall Ashi Wash is a hilarious game that I never expected to ever see on Steam. I'm glad I purchased this game and I'm excited to see what's in store for it. I really hope the developers continously try to improve the game through new features, tools, or hilarious quips from the foot himself. I definitely recommend the game for anyone that likes arcade based gameplay, people that love feet, or people that love being bossed around by a giant sentient foot.

Firstly I would like to say I have been interested in this game since I saw mark play the first version of it way back when it was all gray and missing textures. This has come a very long way since then, and is fantasticly animated. The voice acting and humor were well done, and the overall experiance from atmosphere to gamedesign was an enjoyable experiance.

Very well worth the cost, as I have played 10$ games that were not as fun as this.

5/5 Visuals: The look of the game feels polished, and has its own style that adds to the essence of this game and builds on its playability. I had trouble the first few times cleaning the foot because I wanted to just LOOK at the game and explore the house.

4/5 Story: The story being based on that of a real mythic creature from Japanese folklore, it has basis and isnt just some silly "theres a foot in your house? what?" Though it being just that and thats it felt a little out of place. Like, maybe when you complete the game at certain time gates or get an achiement, have a galery unlock that gives you more back story about the giant foot. Because a lot of people seem to think its just... a giant foot.

4/5 Controls: The controls are pretty basic movement controls, grab item, and use item, but on the use of the items is where it gets a little confusing. Some things have odd hitboxes, like the flyswatter, and the garden sheers. I had the most trouble killing the flys, but otherwise the controls are smooth.

4/5 Gameplay: The gameplay is great! Its quick, fun, you dont stand around doing nothing unless you are trying to loose. The tools are easy to find, and you get right into the thick of cleaning the big foot. Where the 4 comes from is in the fact that the gameplay is about 30-45 min before you are wishing there was more to do. This isnt a critisism or a gripe so much as a wish. I WANT more to do, I WANT to clean the foot in diferent ways, in different places. Like , have him bust through a different house, in the garage, durring a dinner party, at school. I dont know, but I just want more.

All in all, a fun game that you can play to keep the tides of boredom at bay. Loved the time I spent with it, and had a great time playing.
