An incredibly obnoxious weapon when picked by those with little target discipline. Nothing worse then facing down a hord and suddenly blinded by an orange screen cos matey wants to wave his flamer everywhere.....

......and hellfire rounds being shot at team mates doing the same.....

lol the flamer is the only reason i like the game and the first complain about multiplayer at the time that it wasn't avaible, usually i prefer to stay behind and cover the team back or use it like ram flame/punch rinse and repeat until there's an open area. No one never complain about obstructions btw.

Minimap helps a ton.

You can "cheat" using your aimming reticle to look for the color change, since it will hit-scan your targets for you.

in all aspects tough, heavy flamer and hellfire are the only weps that DONT need upgrades to fully function, that is why there are loads of them. (plus that huge armor pen value)
i would love to use spear of caliban but it just damn right sucks when it has a recharger whit very low amount of charges instead of a standard clip.

flamer and hellfire are the defacto standard weapons.
only way to get rid of them is to buff the other weapons.

None of this helps if you are needing/trying to melee. Melee requires timing and visual cues which are completely blotted out by johnny and his zippo flaming your eyeballs.

Seems like everyone is only looking at this from a ranged point of view...

As Assault I welcome Hellfire since its a good and accurate weapon to kill hybrid, psyker and turret since I can take care of dozens of nids or broodlord pretty easily meanwhile heavy flamer did 0 damage to turret, blind me and most of the time(Hellfire can blind me but not nearly as bad as HF) and pretty unreliable to kill hybrid and psyker since its have very short range.

Btw as stated above, minimap wont help me much if someone flaming at my eyeballs while I try to play as Assault, bio scanner and amplifier will help ranged weapons to see through the flames but that was not an option for Assault.

sigh....the issue isnt using scopes on RANGED weapons its about MELEE.....

besides the light amplifier works much better than the bio-glow
