Tactical vs Chaplain
So, for MP, which is best in most situations? They are similar in loadout and abilities but I'm having a hard time deciding which one to use my renown on first.

Tactical Abilities:
Resurrect an ally
Summon a combat drone
Shield an ally from damage for ten seconds

Chaplain Abilities:
Resurrect all allies
Give self damage shield for ten seconds (i think)
Give self damage reflections for a short time

I like them both and they can be essential to the team but as stated above, which is better? The Resurrect ability of the Chaplain is clearly better than that of the Tactical, but what about the secondary abilities? Basically, is it better to assist allies directly with the shield and indirectly with the drone or better to buff yourself? I like running the Redemption on both of them with Power Fist. Sometimes the Heavy Flamer if I'm in the mood to blind my friends.

What do you think?

Chaplain gives damage immunity to the entire team. Also, the tactical resurrects a random ally. If you get your apothecary and your heavy dead, you can't be sure who'll get back up.

The chaplain pretty much overshadows the tactical in every aspect. And he gets a hood and a skull for a helmet. How cool is that?

Chaplain Abilities:
Resurrect all allies - much better
Give self damage shield for ten seconds (i think) - Whole Team mitigates all damage
Give self damage reflections for a short time - Whole Team reflects damage

So Chaplain skills are better all the way. The rocket skull for tactical is complete trash in multiplayer where nids are exploded by hammers and plasma cannons before it even fires a missile

Wuuuuut? I didnt realize he shielded the whole team! Okay, well that pretty much puts the last nail in the coffin for the Tactical. If thats the case, they need to do something to either the Chaplain or the Tactical to differentiate them more.

Yea, give tactical the cyclone missile launcher as a Perk skill

The Tactical should simply get a second Perk slot for added versatility.

Greater customization is how most vidja gajms (looking at you, DoW 1 and 2 BUT NOT 3!) to seperate them from the more specialized roles.

Oh and the Skull Drones need an whole rework, too.

Tactical can be pretty awesome with the Strategist perk... if you're willing to give up a huge chunk of survivability by not taking Resilient and consigning yourself to using the Storm Bolter for the rest of your days.

Aside from this, IC is pretty much strictly better than tac. IC rezzes the entire team with a shorter cooldown (for some reason), shields the entire team, and has a more useful ability that he can actually use because it doesn't start with a 300sec cooldown.

Tac needs some love.

Chaplain aggroes Broodlord, turns on the last two skills (invulnerability and dmg reflection) and Broodlord kills itself ^^
Ok it might need a few shots but the last one went down in about 5 seconds.

Tactical first skill‘s cd (rez) reduced to 50 seconds.

The drone permanently active from the start and after getting destroyed, 180 seconds cd... and pls make it better, faster.

Third skill should be the shield skill combined with the reflect skill to give another team mate. 100 seconds cd.

Hacking is permanent.

When a Tactical is in the team, no more interferences on the radar, or at least less.

So he would be still less powerful than the Chaplain, but much more viable.

Chaplain only rezzes 2 teamates....
Rusharn Jun 8, 2018 @ 4:18pm
I think give the tactical marine a second perk slot, decreasing the single target res cool down to 60 or 50 sec, would make the tactical marine a good choice.

The Chaplain has a skull mask, he automatically wins because of how badass it is.

The Chaplain resurrects 3 teammates, I've done it before.

making the drone permanent until destroyed and the skill just ressurects it, giving a second perk slot, and reducing single res to 50s seems to be the reasonable consensus here, while we're talking balance the non heavy weapons sans hellfire (and including spear of caliban) really need buffs, the hellfire is what the spear of caliban should be, honeslty just making the hellfire a heavy weapon and the spear of caliban a light weapon would be a good bandage fix but in reality the problem is just that everything that isnt the hellfire feels like complete garbage to use, even the redemption (which is supposed to be the "heavy" version of the standard bolter)

I wish I could use the Spear and the Crozius...
Rue Jun 8, 2018 @ 10:54pm
Speaking of the Chaplain, which is a better weapon for him? Heavy Flamer or Spear of Caliban?
heavy flamer hands down, spear of caliban may as well be a regular bolter without the blast radius upgrade and even then its on par with the hellfire or anything else he can use, with literally every good upgrade its MAYBE on par with the redemption just for the heavy, there is no reason to ever use the spear of caliban because of the crozius getting locked out by it
