Strategy to kill broodlord?

Hi fellow brothers, is there a way to kill broodlord without plasma canon and assault purgatory sword in your team? I really want to use other weapons other than plasma canon for my heavy, but without it, its basically suicide if a broodlord decides to spawn.

I find using the Interrogator-Chaplain's Retribution in conjunction with Litany of War an excellent method, just make sure you have the aggro of said broodlord and you'll find it to be a walk in the park. Timing is key and also remembering broodlord spawn points would be a bonus.
Cant think of a solution for multiple brood lords though, other than several Interrogator-Chaplains working together

Good tactic I've seen is Chaplain with flamer backed by a apotechary if they need healing. But usually they don't. The flamer at close range destroys the Broodlord from what I've seen if the Chaplain is skilled enough. But thats just my 2 cents, I'm really that experienced in the game.

Keep moving and sidestep a lot. if he charges RUN to the side because sidestep wont be fast enough. try to always be behind him, as he turns around you follow the same way trying to stay behind. Dont stand still or he could Psyker attack you and that (can be) a 1 hitter.

Anything with good armour pen is good to use, vengance cannon, thunder hammer, lightnigng claws etc

Flamer is good for DOT to support but alone its not so good against them.

Assault Terminator with Thunder Hammer can keep him busy and CC'd while the team guns him down.

1) Stay out of melee range. His attacks are fairly telegraphed so just back away when he rears up for one. It is actually quite easy to do once you get over how intimidating it seems at first!

2) Hit the ground by his/your feet as the "Explosion" attribute of the Hammer will hit him without making physical contact. This allows you to hurt/CC him without fearing his melee attacks (this is a good strategy against all Genestealers with the Hammer).

EDIT: Once you get good at this "dance" as an Assault you can even solo them easily enough.

As an assault, use a maxed sword of purgation and aim for their head. Strafe around them, staying to their side at all times and keep whacking them as you move (do NOT stand still). Using fury makes this go quicker. After maining assault since re-releasae, I've found this to be the best strategy and can solo 3 broodlords at once doing this (on No Mercy mind you), and it takes about 3-6 hits to kill them.

OP decidely wanted non-Sword cheese strategies.

I have played No Mercy and only good fast tactic to kill these big fellas is to have melee with fully modded Purgatory sword, with +300% dam +80 armor pierce and weapon speed mod.

Just use personal shield skill, teleport next to it, press 1 and proceed hitting it and scoring a kill under 3 seconds. Not even joking now.

Plasmacannon and librarian's stun aoe just stop big ones from moving so others can shoot it. With FF on, Plasmacannon is out of the question to take with. It is either melee or having someone keep stunning it (as said, only plasmacannon and librarians stun aoe) while others shoot. The thing is, the longer you tally with broodlord, the faster you get other company, and at worst case you get rekt by smaller genestealers, or broodlord getting a lucky spit/psy-attack past the stuns and kills someone.

Just recommend melee with the sword dealing with the broodlords. It is not cheesy, it is high risk/high reward class compared to plasmacheesing.

a tactical with flamer can 1v1 a broodlord pretty reliably if he has enough space. its not purgatory sword lvl of easymode, but its a good alternative, if you dont want to cheese it. vengeance is also an option but id say you need a bit more support in that case
