Few examples: Use your shield to negate their dmg, up armor skill, use your power shield, 50% anti-acid dmg taken skill, coordiante your team to take them out before even reaching close (hard at times, i know).
There`s always a workaround, if you only play with strangers, try to adapt to how the team plays as a whole.
They are all around horrible, and took what was a subpar shooting experience against hordes of enemies into territory that is just painful to play. Anti-fun.
I don't know if I'd take them out entirely as the game already lacks enemy variety, but they need to be either a lot slower, or have a charge up time to explode, forcing you to move away. You know, something that makes you play different and think on your feet, as opposed to "♥♥♥♥ you there's half your life gone".
Also for real, they need to shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. There is no defense for the noise the devs chose for this or the volume it plays at or the way that it just incessantly plays while the little ♥♥♥♥♥ AI is stupidly trying to find a path to you for 5 minutes straight.
Let me elaborate a bit. My issue is that they spring out of nowhere like John Cena with a CM Punk issue, and hit harder than a sixteen wheeler 5 tons over its weight limit. They rush around the corner, spring forth from a spawn. And when they are in the swarm? They are safely tucked in the middle and in the chaos of it all when you swing a thunder hammer, your lighting a grenade in your face.
I know there are others that are not having the same problem, as you described they just go with it. But to me the Exploder is the very bane of my existance. I mean I love this game, I do.
But when we complete a mission and it ends with the Exploders nearby?
Its like Country Music being sung by a mouse, castrated by a cheesegrater.
Agreed they're not interesting to fight and they only add annoyance to the game. Especially when the mission complete screen comes up and you have to listen to their noise on an endless loop. I would remove them entirely but if they have to be in then make them attack with their claws like regular genestealers instead of automatically detonating next to you. That way you can treat them like xenomorphs and either CC them or get behind the assault before killing them.
they *aint * that hard to deal with'
try a better balanced team comp.
assault classes should not be on point.
they are best suited as a fire break or keyhole position.
librarians and tac's are best at point duty and will flush corner traps and other spawns
i guess you could slot the resistance buff if your struggling with the damage they deal
i may agree with you on the noise they make, but, only when it gets stuck on loop when the mission ends, thats pretty annoying.
In fact they are not a threat to me I forgot the last time I die to them.
