Is this like Vermintide 1 & 2?
I know its at a different point in time, but I was wondering if the gameplay and setup are similar? Really like Vermintide so doing the same thing with power armor and heavies seem fun.

NO, this is the tabletop Space Hulk Ascension in FPS format, totally different to Vermintide

With only a couple hours under my best in multiplayer only, I can only answer: sort of. It has some of that same feel, the dark feel, tense moments, teamwork important, ect. However, this makes Vermintide seem kinda of polished at the moment from a multiplayer only perspective. Most would problably stumble into a random pug game in recruit and then promptly fail a few games. This game had me and my mates fumbleing around dark corridors, half lost, mostly clueless on our abilities ever after a couple hours of playing the same class, widley shooting everything that moved.

So far, I think its fresh/different enough to provide a good few hours of fun for my friends and I, but I would say its a bit unpolished compared to vermintide and with a either a non existent or straight salty community behind it making searching for information on skills/classes and all that very difficult. This may just be that Vermintide's community is so welcoming and chill though.
Its nothing like Verminsh|te. Its like comparing sky and dirt.
Space Hulk: Deathwing is unique good quality game.
Verminsh|te - piece of code made by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fakshark, who have bad reputation. They screwed War of ... franchise.

OMG that sounds like an awesome idea for a game! No way they could fack that one up. I can't wait till someone makes a good horde shooter based on the Spacehulk franchise.

You forgot the /s.

OP, this game is a raging dumpster fire of horrible amateur hour programming and bad game design decisions. I also have dozens of hours in vermintide 2, and you will find nothing but dissapointment here for a game that could have been, but never was.

Is 2 much better? As someone who bought 1 on sale to try out, I find it too fiddly and the community a bit hostile. This at least is quite enjoyable with 2-3 friends but with Vermintide, not sure why but it didn't feel as satisfying.

I will say that this dev/studio does indeed suffer from a lack of polish but imo both this and EYE have a degree of fun if you can find buddies. Solo is a bit of a drag but I had many fun hours playing EYE coop and I would with this game too if I didn't have to travel weekly now :X

I would say they have some key differences, but quite a bit in common. Obviously the playstyle is quite a bit different as you are playing space marines with plasma cannons and bolters instead of fantasy characters. The progression system is also very different and kind of still being refined sort of like vermintides was in the first game. The maps have the same great attention to detail, but are a bit more open rather than the relatively linear maps that vermintide provides. Vermintide is a lot easier to play on your own I'd say since the bots aren't terrible (the bots can be pretty clunky in this game, and frequently stand in your way). You probably will enjoy the game a lot more if you have friends who play it, but that's pretty par for the course for this game, vermintide, and a lot of games like it.

202 hours in Vermintide 2. 13 hours in Deathwing here.

I enjoy both games. Both have balancing problems but Vermintide 2 has a developer who seems to put out a patch every week. Many people will tell you that they made the game worse with each patch, which is frankly ridiculous because the launch version of the game was an absolute joke with tons of things/skills/abilities that did NOTHING, enemies shooting through walls and so on.
Vermintide 2 has a balancing problem yet but this is to be expected. It has 15 classes on 5 Heroes with multiple weapons and skills. It's impossible to make them ALL equally useful. A 'meta' has been established but devs try to shake it up with patches, which is the reason I keep playing. If they didn't patch things in, I would have stopped playing weeks ago.

Deathwing, is slower, more tactical and requires more co-op than V2 in my opinion. In V2 you can pretty much 'do your thing' while playing with other randoms and still do well. Doing 'your thing' in Deathwing will probably kill you.

The REAL problem with Deathwing is that it also has its fair share of overpowered/underpowered skills and weapons but we don't know if the devs are going to patch the game regularly...
DW has a very bad development history and I'm afraid that it isn't going to be supported as it should.

DW will require rebalancing soon enough before people start to get bored with playing the same 2-3 meta builds. If the devs aren't going to address balancing issues, DW will die very soon. On the other hand, Vermintide 2 is getting a cosmetics patch and new gameplay modes soon so I feel that I can increase my 200+ hours with it but until I see some patching efforts from DW devs I think that DW ain't gonna keep me playing for more than 5-10 hours.....

Much more tactical and less L4D-skin-ish, different feel and vibe, differently tailored engagements and the fact that the maps aren't either small arenas or "go from A to B" map types, thus offering A LOT of replayability (which Vermintide lacks) thanks to randomized objectives mode.

Most people I join don't go for relics, which give 500xp per peice found. Pretty dumb not to pick them up every round. Bring it up or don't follow some idiot who doesn't know where he's going & they get so upset.

vermintide is warhammer 40k fantasy, space marine/deathwing/dawn of war, all these games are 40k universe.

Warhammer fantasy is NOT warhammer 40k.

With 270+ hours in VT2 and after buying this game, I can say: It's like VT2 but worse in pretty much every aspect, except graphics maybe...
