AI teammates are just dumb, don't expect much and go for melee buddies. Expect babysitting the Apothecary (medic) all along.
I find progression somewhat dull with weird choices (cosmetics using the same points as gameplay bonuses) and grindy.
Shooting and melee are not the best but it can definitely be fun with friend.
You'd better go check other opinions on the game to have a better idea of the pros and cons.

Is your friend Captian Jack Sparrow?
Because i didn't wana suck at a game that i play the 1st time, i never ever play multiplayer before i finish tutorials or singleplayer
So on topic, i should get yhe game and finish the campaing with people instead of bots? But is it fun in the long term say 100hrs?
Lock this door brother
Move to this point
I will take the lead, follow me
Lock this door brother
Destroy this target
(I can't read that withotu reading it in my space marine voice Lol)
Oh also, in singleplayer, if you give the heavy gunner a stormshield and thunderhammer, he seems to never die lol
H heals yourself
0 Heals the medic
9 Heals the other guy
HOPE that helps a little - I enjoy multiplayer a lot personally. No Mercy difficutly gives more exp and adds a bit more challenge - me and my friend played the first level over and over until we mastered a method of completing it (with my stubborn ass playing an apothecary with lightning claws) last night actually lol.
I'd just let em do their own thing, until I specifically wanted them to lock a door, take that guy out, get out of the way, whatever.
