MP matching and region locking

I cannot find a single game in MP. Always shows that there is no servers. Is the game region locked? Or what could be the cause of finding no MP matches?

I am finding it hard to get games too they have really changed the range itsearches in
I still have to old game running and can see several games but none in the new one and yet 2000+ people are in game
I'm in NZ and used to be able to see games in the US and they were usually ok to play unless hosted on a potatoe.
but now I only see games in Australia or NZ.
I cant see me getting many games at this rate...

Yeah it's region locked. I've tried last night to join a youtuber from UK and i couldn't find him

Definitely region locked / or similar. I had no MP games in the lobby at peak hour until I changed the download location setting in Steam (and restarted Steam). Just like I had to do with the standard version back in 2016. If it's been changed back then, it's back.

I'm and Australian player, and I've only met AU's since I bought the game. 4 of them, in 100h of game play.

I requested on their own forum that they add pings (which they have now done), and remove region locking. After all, it's only there to stop you from joining bad games, and since you can see the ping.....it's in the players control.

Region locking is moronic, since it completely narrows down the availibility of games, and if someone has a good connection that's not too far away, you've a chance of having a decent game.

There's also an issue which means the games list doesn't seem to get updated as it should - so you've a chance of trying to connect to games which don't exist.

You can still join games from your Steam friends list, the region lock only affects the server search menu. Best bet would be to join a Discord with active players looking for games (see pinned post) and adding them as friends so you can join them.

True, but also affects quickmatch or whatever it's called.

It locks to your region for displaying servers. However one thing i've found is that if you use quick join, it actually extends your range a little bit. For example, I am in south america and it never displays any games outside of south america in the available games listing. But when I use quick join I have often been added to North american games, which have for the most part run ok in my case. These games would never have shown up on the available games listing.

All that said though, i do think it should let you display further ranges and show ping.

I know, I'm in it, thanks for the suggestion, that's specifically why I'm on this bandwagon. I know games are running and I can't see them because I'm talking to guys in there.
