Best/authentic difficulty?
Hi everyone. I'm pretty new to the game; got about halfway through the campaign, but when I heard about EE, I just set it down and waited until EE released, so I could get a great initial experience. That's what I care about.

With that in mind, what do you all think is the difficulty level that best makes you *feel* like an Astartes in this game. To clarify, a game like Halo explicitly states that Heroic difficulty is the way the game was meant to be played, as opposed to the harder Legendary difficulty. I interpreted that to mean that the damage Master Chief takes & deals is roughly lore appropriate.

What is the difficulty level at which this game is "meant" to be played?

normal or lion for me depends on level / perks / team etc

Easy is boring and hardest is almost 1 hit death to some enemy (leaper)

Lore-wise I don't really think there's a difficulty that represents the glass cannon (sword?) that genestealers are meant to be. Lower difficulty makes them just the right amount of squishy but then they also do no damage when they reach you.

Hardest difficulty definitely gives you a good sense of the Space Hulk IP though. You have to move slowly and methodically. You might struggle through some of the later levels if your first play through is on hardest.

Alright, thank you. I'm playing the single player campaign from scratch, so it sounds like you would recommend normal for me. I think I'll kick it up to Lion, to make it a little more grueling. Appreciate it!

Ohhh, I see the issue. Wow, that actually sounds like it would be a really fun game mode. "Authentic difficulty," where both sides kill each other extremely easily. I played the other Space Hulk game, the turn-based tactical one, and I certainly do remember having to hunker down for prolonged periods of time, haha.

enemie health is the same on all difficulties. the only difference is damage output. no mercy would be the most fluffy, because stealers are supposed to be very deadly in close combat.

Once you start really upping your character of choice's power thru weapon, armor & perk bonuses you're gonna want to ratchet up that difficulty. The renown rewards scale.

We often played on No Mercy mode with fully kitted out termites, but left FF off because we're bizerkerz.....

FF on is just nasty. Say no to thunderhammers
