If I don't get close to you then how am I supposed to beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of you?
Oh ho, then you can get as close as you want?
Deku Beat Bakugou in their first encounter from a strategic stand point.
Bakugou beat Deku in a straight no holds bar confrontation.
In the long run tho, Deku should be stronger than bakugou.
^This. Right now they're both still growing stronger and who wins will depend on what the story requires. But unless a new power surfaces or a ridiculous power up happens to Bakugou, Deku is going to surpass him. OFA just gives him more opportunities to grow stronger (the abilities Deku gets from OFA is just stronger and more versatile than Bakugou's sweatsplosion quirk.)
An easy way to see this is to imagine Bakugou's quirk getting stronger by a huge margin, and then seeing if he can use that power to beat All Might. Deku's going to eventually get as strong as All Might, and even surpass him because he'll be able to use all the other OFA abilities that All Might wasn't aware of.
But Bakugou shouldn't beat Deku, Because Deku's meant to be the new symbol of peace, the #1 hero.
Bakugou's image is different. While Deku is meant to be the symbol of Resolve, Bakugou is the symbol of Victory. Of determination.
Alot of people don't like Bakugou for his attitude, But in his own way he's pushing those around him to be better just as much as Deku is. Bakugou is a Genius when it comes to fighting and adapting, And his Resolve can't be broken. He simply will never give up. He was ready to go down fighting all of the League of villians just so they couldn't use him as a hostage anymore.
Slowly but surely Bakugou grew to become my favorite, Because he embodies the confidence and tenacity we all want to have in life when it comes to reaching our goals.
