And use your comon sense. Stones are obviously common near cliffs, rivers or bigger rocks.
About the Youtubers complaining about not finding any of the stuff they need, I have seen several Youtubers playing with their head up in the butt, running around like there was no tomorrow, seeing them complain about where are the flowers while I could clearly see that they had missed several - Had they taken their time and progressed slowly examining the surroundings thoroughly then they most likely wouldn't have had much problems finding what they needed :)
Not naming any names, but I saw a youtuber complaining about some problems that had been bugging him for the past 3 or 4 episodes of his Let's Play series, had he checked the controls he would have known how to throw a spear and had he checked his notebook he would have known how to treat certain diseases...
I know that most youtubers play a lot of different games, so they haven't got much time to learn a new game, but it doesn't excuse them when blaming the game for mistake they make because they didn't take their time to figure out why they struggled with something.
If the game really was so unbalanced or hard to learn then please explain why most of us that bought it from day one had it nailed within few days?
They'll eventually learn there's another type of game that asks you to use your brain to figure stuff out instead of just mindlessly following the on-screen prompts.
In survival there are no Participation Awards. You survive, or you die.
I love the fact that you need to use your brain and look for things. Plants don't have huge signs on them that say "EAT ME!" Maybe the tutorial needs to be fleshed out more. I mean this IS Early Access.
This game is completely illogical. People trying to defend the discovery aspect are just stupid and blind to the idea that not everyone is the same as them. You need to look for things yourself in this game, but you also have to wrestle with the illogical crafting, horribly basic "survival guide" written for a 12yo without hardly any useful information in it. And supposedly the main character has experience in the amazon?! BS! The moron freaks out at having leaches on him, he should have stayed at home.
Want to boil water? You have to know the right *combination" of actions to make that happen. I know I want clean water, but cannot even use leaves to collect it or channel it?? Noo because that logic is not included, only the "logic" they have chosen to include. Want to chop down a coconut tree - you cant because "logic". There is NO INDICATION the trees cannot be chopped down, until you realise that the noise is different and you break ANOTHER axe, and there is no damage on the tree (not that games always follow that guidance regularly either)
Another damn game that fails to live up to their own advertising and hype.... Im nearly done with this POS.
I guarantee most of us (me included) could NOT make a fire, let alone anything else, without assistance from some modern technology, and/or experience making all this ♥♥♥♥.
There is very little "REALISM" in this BS game.
