Isshın the Sword Saint?!

Do you boys have any tips and tricks? I know I can beat him. But when I watched a cheese video about how to beat him, I see mf have a pistol under his pant. Thanks a lot in advance...

Don't Cheese him. it will ruin the experience of beating him the first time. Isshin the sword basically takes all you learned trough the game and combines it into one singular battle. what i found to be the best strategy is to stay close and just keep on attacking and parying until you can do a deathblow. He regenrates posture really quickly so don't leave him alone for too long.

First phase you just gotta get by, second and third phase just bait the jump attack, dodge then punish. Literally the easiest way to do it.

Use the flame umbrella prosthetic + projected force when he uses the glock on you, easy pizzy

Don't cheese him. It's one of the best boss fights across all souls games in my opinion and you'll do yourself a disservice by not slogging it out. It's worth it. The Sword Saint is just an amalgamation of all the mechanics and past boss fights throughout the game, maybe watch some video guides on how to deal with his different move sets. Trust me once it clicks you'll grind him down in no time.

If you have beaten all the previous bosses of the game without any cheese, you should be comfortable beating Isshin.

All your previous encounters prepare you for the final fight.

If you struggle with the fight, I recommend watching this video by @Cainfoe https://youtu.be/PbGbdNQ_Hk4

He gives some great tips on how to counter each phase.

Personally, I spend a significant amount of time analyzing Isshin moves in each phase, I wasn't rushing the fight. I'd have to break his posture twice before I move to the next phase.

Isshin is probably one of the best boss you could possibly fight so I recommend fight it with your own skills and learn his mechanic since it's not that hard compare to Demon of Hatred. But I recommend using some prosthetic and organize your stuff carefully. Don't waste your healing potion and stuff on the first phase which is easy. In the second phase, you gotta focus on parrying and deflecting his attack since his attack came in combo of sword and spear. The third phase is easy. Just keep deflecting until he charged up his electric and thrown at u. Just send it back and easy win. I would say thrid phase is much easier than second one. :D

ISNT ISSHIN THE LAST BOSS?? WHO TF IS DEMON OF HATRED??

'DEMON OF HATRED" is the optional end boss.

He is more like a darksouls type boss you can find him in the end of the(optional) Ashina outskirts during the endgame.

Malcontent works on the demon(max 3 times as usual) and fire umbrella shield also helps a ton for obvious reasons.

i beated him yesterday for 6th time,
i recomend you to learn his movesets and pary them,
if you want you can use headless sugars and the pellets to help you,
with time you will beat him, my first playthrough it took long too

Yeah, you are right. It was nearly impossible for me, but I started to beat the crap out of his 1st form. But second one is attacking like a crazy beyblade. I can't even counter them.

Your umbrella is your best friend - it helps you survive a lot of mistakes and reliably lets you nullify most of his big attacks if you are in a bad position or unsure how to react and still need to learn what happens without straight up dying.

Let yourself have breaks - it takes a while for muscle memory to sink in. don't waste 4 hours banging your head against a wall if you see yourself not making progress.

in the spear phase, try to find a range where you can either umbrella his big AoEs ( or learn to counter them properly with headstomps etc) and bait for mikiri / (perfect) parry the overhead jumps and wide attacks.

don't forget that holding block lets your parry meter refresh faster, it can make a big difference here.

Shadowrush / Shadowfall can be helpful here as well as a gap closer and to get some hits in after the jump and especially after you countered the lightning in the last phase.
