In that case, I would suggest uninstalling the game and then reinstall it. If you have saved games, don't worry as they are saved in the cloud storage of Steam.
Actually, just has an idea. Download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) from its official website then install it. You have to run it in safemode. This software will remove everything of your display driver, including its installation folder. The software works with both NVidia and AMD GPU. Just choose the one you have. The software will also stop Window installing its driver. Once it has finished removing the GPU driver, it will need to reboot the computer. Once you are back in Window, download the latest version, again (just in case) and then install it. Hope this help. Good luck :)
