Owl Father is just proceed the story and eavesdrop as much as possible, Emma should go to Tomoe and Takeru's grave talk to her there. Next she will visit Sculptor eavesdrop there, confront her and she gives you what you need to fight Owl Father. Easily one of the best fights in the entire game.
Sen storage is the coin purses. You go to a merchant before a boss encounter and clean them out of their coin purse inventory. You may have to travel around since coin purse inventory isn't shared among merchants. You'll notice you'll be paying ten percent more of what a coin purse is worth. If you did the Outskirts Merchant quest you get an item that negates the 10% charge on coin purses but it happens so late it really only affects NG+
The other "sen saving" method is to spend all your sen on spirit emblems so you don't lose the coin and you can continue to use prosthetics for boss fights.
You can do some light farming for coin and sugars (sell sugars for more coin) just run the beginning of Senpou with Divine Abduction. It one shots all the monks that aren't infested.
Boss you missed is Owl (Father) not Inner Owl, however Inner requires you to beat Father to unlock so...
Owl Father only appears in final step of Purification ending, you can look up a guide for it or, if you don't want any tips at all just evasedrop Kuro and Talk to Emma as much as possible, until you can tell her that "Kuro can't die".
Also regarding saving Sen, you can always buy money bags from various vendors, by buying them you lose 10% of what your sen is worth (For example buying a bag of 100 sen costs 110 sen) but they don't get lost after death so it's WAY better than losing 50% every death.
