So I am doing my first play through and working on the immortal severance ending. As far as I know, I have gotten all the items I could possibly get. I need 2 more prayer beads (for the 10th necklace) that I hear I can only get in the purification ending. I need the last 4 lapis lazuli (where are they???) and all the bosses have been defeated in this mode....except for Sword Saint.
The only thing I need to do is defeat the Sword Saint. Unfortunately, I have not made any backup saves which I hear I should have done before deciding to stay loyal to Kuro.
Is there a point in making a backup save now?
I also read that all the items I just mentioned (and skill points) will carry over to NG+. So all I have to do is play through quickly to get to Owl's question so I can choose the other endings and get my missing items/achievements. Is this true? Am I on the right track? Any advice would be appreciated.
Oh, and will I need to get the fruit and rice again?
Will the Mortal Blade carry over to NG+?
I am having a blast playing this game, but still would not want to waste time either.
Thanks.

1. No, the mortal blade is story item so it will not be carried over to NG+. But all your skills earned so far and all the remnants will remain in your inventory. Oh, and all you resources, potions, pellets, etc. Anything that is tied to the story will not be carried over.

2. There are ONLY 6 lazurite crystals in the game in one playthrough. So, in order to get the achievements for fully upgrading all your prosthetic tools, you have to play an NG+.

3. If you are going for all the achievements, firstly, NEVER play Sekiro with your Steam Account offline. There is a random bug there that is not fixed since it was recognized by the Dev. back in 2018 or 19. Well, they did try to fix it but no luck. In the end, the Dev. was blaming Steam Client Software and Steam was blaming Sekiro the game.

4. Staying on achievements, in order to get all the achievements, you HAVE TO use the same saved game file all through. Never start a new game from scratch. Always start a NG+, or NG++, etc.. For instance, for the achievement of defeating all the bosses, there are 14 of them. You should notice by now that everytime you defeat one of the 14 bosses, you will get a memory. Using it will increase your AP by 1, plus you get an remnant of that boss in your inventory. The game checks the presence of these remnants for achievements.

5. Spoilers - There are 4 endings, each ending gives an achievement. Hmm, it is almost impossible not to include spoilers. I don't know if you prefer finding things out yourself or not. If you do, you may have to play through the games a few more times. If you don't mind following guide, watch the 100% series of Sekiro videos by FightinCowboy on Youtube.

6. If you follow FightinCowboy's series, he will show you how to get ALL the required items for ALL endings in one playthrough. Since you are going for the achievements, the best point to backup the saved game files is after you have defeated Isshin Sword Saint. Do a backup before you talk to Kuro. If you have all the items, you will see 3 options in the conversation with Kuro. Each corresponds to an Ending.

7. The point where you talk to Owl at the top of Ashina Castle is a backup point but since you are going for ALL achievements, I advise doing Shura Ending last. As you can see, Shura Ending finishes the game here. You will not have access to FountainHead, i.e. you will have NO access to lazurite crystals.

8. For one of the endings, after you have used the rice 3 times, i.e. you will have to go back to the Divine Child to ask for more rice 3 times. She will give you something that is essential to the 4th, some says the best ending of the four.

If you have more query, don't hesitate to ask. :) Oh, I don't use MOD so don't ask me anything on MOD. Good luck and have fun :)

PS If you like the game so much, like I do, after you get all the achievements, do consider starting a brand new game from scratch. And when you talk to Kuro the first time, give him back the Charm. This option is only available if you have completed the game once in any ending. Without the Kuro Charm, you really have to get a fairly high success rate in executing a perfect parry / deflect. I have explained in quite a few posts about perfect parry. You can search for it in this forum.

Thank you so much. It turns out I am on track for all 14 bosses. I will check out that video.
Can I get the Lapis Lazuli the same ways in NG+ that I did in the first play through or do I have to do something different?

Spoiler alert next lines!!!
I think I did ask for rice three times. Kuro made me rice balls, but I never ate it...
Or does she give me something else?

Is it possible to have all the items for all 3 ending without doing the eaves dropping? I do have a lot of items in my inventory I don't think I used yet. I took a lot of time this first play through exploring everywhere I could.
1 divine grass
3 Persimmon
1 Taro Persimon
2 Rice
1 Sweet Rice Ball
1 Sweet Rice Ball (yep, a total of 2 sweet rice balls)
and probably several other things

Can I assume there will be an Idol after defeating Sword Saint and before I talk to Kuro for me to do that back up save?

Also, is there a point where i can heal dragon rot indefinitely?
I haven't beaten Sword Saint yet and EVERYONE is infected. I don't want to heal them if they are just going to get infected from me getting my butt kicked again and again.

Thanks again.

- Just do the same things in NG+. Just to remind you that enemies will be stronger now.

- If you go back and talk to her again, then rest at the idol outside, you will see that she is not there anymore. Travel to the room where the invisible monkeys were and talk to her again. She will give you a task. Do it and then come back. If you don't see her, rest at the idol. She should be back and now talk to her again. She will give you another task, to get two special persimmons which are really serpent's hearts. There are more things that you have to do. All these lead to the 4th ending. Some called this the secret ending, some called it the best ending. I will leave you to find out the rest yourself. Don't hesitate to ask if you are stuck.

1 Sweet Rice Ball (yep, a total of 2 sweet rice balls)

- the eaves droppings are "flags" to make progress in the story. So, you will have to do them.
- Divine grass is for 100% recovery in both health and posture. Can only be used once.
- Persimmon, you can eat one during combat to recover your posture bar. But do keep one behind as you need to give one to the Divine Child for her to recover. But I think you may have already done it. She usually asks for one when you have used the rice 2 or 3 times.
- Taro persimmon, I think this is the dried serpent heart. You will need to get a fresh one by killing the serpent. You need to have access to a cave in Senpou district. Remember the short guy with a big hat looking at a machine to which a big kite is attached? Hint hint.
- rice is a op version of healing potion. Later on, you will be given a even better version.
- Sweet Rice Balls are just like rice but slightly more powerful. Well, it lasts slightly longer I think. But I tend to use those that are given by the Divine Child as you can ask her for more once you have used one.

Can I assume there will be an Idol after defeating Sword Saint and before I talk to Kuro for me to do that back up save?

- No, there won't be a "new" one. If you want to use one, you have to run back out and use the one at the entrance.

Also, is there a point where i can heal dragon rot indefinitely?
I haven't beaten Sword Saint yet and EVERYONE is infected. I don't want to heal them if they are just going to get infected from me getting my butt kicked again and again.

- being infected with dragonrot is not a big deal. First, it reduces the chance of NOT losing XP and gold from 30% to 15%. If you are at earlier stage of the story, yes, there will be problem as this can stop you from interacting with certain NPC, e.g. some vendors. And if this NPC has a role in story progression, suffering from dragonrot will stop them talking to you hence you will not be able to progress. But since you are at the final boss stage, I won't worry about it too much.
- To cure dragonrot, you will need to have dragonrot droplet and the charm in your inventory. Just to let you know that dragonrot droplet has another function. You notice that when Sekiro die and resurrect, there will be a black bar across the rest of his live essence circles. That means that Sekiro cannot resurrect again. You can remove this black bar by using a dragonrot droplet, even during combat.
- You can also remove the black bar by using a Jizu statue. But there is a condition that has to be satisfied first. This will be better explained if Sekiro has 3 live essence circles. You can only use a Jizu statue when one of the circle is empty or not full.
- Ok, if Sekiro dies in total 8 times, 8 single or dying twice 4 times, or a combination of single and dying twice but the total is 8, Sekiro will suffer from Dragonrot. Once you have cured Sekiro from Dragonrot, he will suffer from it again if he dies 8 times in total again.

Hope this help. Good luck and have fun :)
