No they should do another sekiro style game next.
ER is basically DS4. Its fun but we've seen it all before.
Its a totally other game. You cant compare them like that.
The game mechanics are more restrictive (at first) Because the enemies and bosses are a million times better than in ER. The varation comes more from boss patterns and strategies later than from different weapons.
If you know what to do you can use many different ways to play.
But in general its just a way more combat and rhythm based game than ER.
People complain about no variation dont understand that sekiro is no souls game really. ER is tho.
It doesnt matter that its a different type of game. If the criticism is that its absolutely lacking variation, then thats a legitimate criticism that comes totally unconnected to any other game.
Its like saying "People that criticise Battlefield 2042s bad quality dont understand that its a different game than Pac Man."
See, the latter part of the sentence has zero connection to the criticism being made. Either something is bad or it isnt.
It being bad or better in any other game, doesnt make the criticism less or more valid.
lmao no this game is not rng, if you died it was entirely your own fault
Its not flawed. The comment evidently expects the game to be like Elden Ring comparing them like they would have similar or close combat mechanics, which is not true.
The argument "Sekiro is boring and has no variation" often comes from people who doesnt play the game for too long. At the beginning it can seem a bit basic, but thats because it doesnt throw everything at you right at the start.
Variation comes when you progress the game, meet new enemies and get new tool and also develop more skill to bring variation to the gameplay with the way you play.
If you see absolutely no variation in Sekiro its just because you dont know enough about the game or havent played long enough.
It does not bring the same variation, like different builds and weapons tho. If you expected that you just bought the wrong game. Its not the games fault. Thats what i meant with, "its no souls game".
It is more restricted and doesnt offer that many different ways of approaching the game but there is variation just in another way. Bosses and enemies have more and complex movesets than just evade and hit like in DS.
If thats not your style, well fair enough but it doesnt mean the game is boring by default for everyone. It just highly depends if you like that kind of gameplay.
This is not really a case of right or wrong, more like what do people like to play.
Your argument with pacman actually just proves my point. People who enjoy pacman could say, "hey BF2042 s*cks, there are no small yellow things and you dont crawl thru these tunnels in a 2D way." ... well guess what. Thats because its another game.
Comment basically says "dude there is nor build variation" ... no there isnt, the game never claimed it would be, you expected other gameplay mechanics that are just not there in this game.
TLTR: the question of OP cant actually be answered this way. You cant tell if someone will enjoy Sekiro after elden ring. If you want similar gameplay than most likely not.
If you like rhythm based fast paced combat, then maybe yes.
I enjoyed all FS games in their own way. They have different things that make them great but that doenst mean anyone will also enjoy all of them which is fine.
that alone is worth to buy. go on, there's a sale going on now
They are just different. Sekrio has more strick combat and smaller areas but also well designed. Its more boss fight focused. Also the enemies are better designed imo. Just watch some boss fights, like Owl and Genichiro and you will get the idea. You will find no such fluid combat in any other FS game.
BB is more a classic FS game like Elden Ring but no open world but very good world and lvl design. Very dark and surreal. Close to Dark Souls 3 but with another lore / world. Build system and weapons are a bit more simple as in Elden Ring or DS3.
All great games btw.
