Why is the first skill on the tree not available for me? I checked online that it should be 'High Monk' and read that I need to pick up the esoteric text in a shrine near the Main Hall Idol in Senpou Temple. I already picked it up a long time ago. I even went to double check and there was a Jizo statue in its place because I indeed picked it up already. What am I missing?

Did you buy "Floating Passage" skill from the pot merchant in Hirata Estate for 5 red material.

I assume you have mortal blade.


If you miss"high monk" then note that you need to have
"praying strikes" "virtuous deed" and"senpou leaping kicks" already bought from the temple arts skill tree.

Make sure you already bought all 3 prequisite skills.

I haven't bought the floating passage skill. I don't know what exactly those skills are you mention because I am playing in a different language. I attached a screenshot in my OP of how my skill tree looks like. I think I do have all of the 3 you mentioned.

I was wrong, I have bought the floating passage skill. I am on NG+3, have the mortal blade and am about to do the Divine Dragon boss fight and it still looks the same.

Okay figured it out. High monk is apparently also part of the temple arts skill tree. It's the last skill on the tree and it was unavailable there too. I had to still unlock some skills connected to it there to make it available which then made it automatically available in the mushin arts skill tree as well. That really makes no sense to put the same skill on two separate skill trees but okay.
