jozu the drunkard cheese needed
how do i cheese this guy? i. can. NOT. deflect this guy for the LIFE OF ME. his health pool is MASSIVE. i'm forced to SLOG through a whole group of enemies every single attempt. he's like malenia on steroids and i have NEVER struggled this much with anything in a game before. THIS IS THE WORST BOSS EVER.

edit: can someone lock this thread please thanks

hey nerds i already beat this drunk loser a while ago so you can all stop commenting the same thing over and over...idk why this thread hasn't gotten locked yet

Then select any random comment as the "answer" using the "mark as answer" feature of the forum posts. Once you do that, it should limit the people who reply. Doubtful but hope springs eternal.

well jumping is certainly not a "main mechanic" and is probably part of your problem. The only time to jump in combat is over a sweep attack. The combat is very simple, theres no running around, rolling or dodging, your attacking, parrying, and countering one of the three unblockable attacks. sweep = jump, thrust = mikiri, grab = dodge.
Its a skill issue, and you just need to get gud.

if you're not interested then why did you even make this thread in the first place?

After reading the responses, I tested some of them and still recommend just dodging to his rear.

Lock the thread then
Skill Issue.
This game is supposed to be difficult. Not everyone can do it. Just accept that you are not good enough to do it and move on.

If this game was so easy that everyone could beat it, it would suck.

THE BIG FAT ASS HAT CANNOT COMPREHEND ZOOMING AROUND HIM, RUN THEN HIT AND THEN KEEP RUNNING AROUND HIM, IF HE CHUGS ♥♥♥♥ THATS AN EASY 2 HIT, KEEP REPEATING

Caps, friend

But yeah this was practically my advice. Getting around these enemies is far more rewarding than standing in front of them and just waiting for things to happen - I see way too many people play like that.

Theres ALWAYS a cheese method, no matter what people say. With that said,
how to cheese drunkard in 4 steps with no parrying required:

1- lure him out to the water,
2- hide behind the buildings (located left when facing his original location) until the music stops
3- crouch sneak up behind backstab when he slowly walks back to his spot.

for the 2nd healthbar
4- quickly run and ask the friendly npc in the water to help you fight him and then stand on opposite sides of the fatty and gank fight 2v1 tf out of him.

there are videos on youtube that tell you how to cheese everything, so id try looking there :er_wave:
instead of posting on a game forum filled with unhelpful fromsoftware purists

to beat the drunkards you find later in the game, just get the first healthbar out with a backstab by luring out and hiding then spam a certain overpowered weapon skill you get in the main story about halfway through the game.

and about the purple boss you mentioned,
if its the corrupted monk then he is very weak to firecrackers and the throwable ash item. with that you can infinitely stunlock him to death

if its the smaller and headless one just ignore them they are optional and require a rare, specific weapon buff to deal damage to them. they only drop reusable versions of the sugars costing spirit emblems instead.

you can sprint around and punish his grab attack (1X) or punish his double ichimoni(2x) whilst jumpdodging away... simple and effective ( when he drinks or spews on his sword, also good opportunity to get in a few hits):praisesun:

the problem is not that he wants to cheese the first big hurdle and if he cant beat that what chance is he going to have later at the corrupted monk, isshin and for some reason guardian ape that one gets a lot of hate.
