jozu the drunkard cheese needed
how do i cheese this guy? i. can. NOT. deflect this guy for the LIFE OF ME. his health pool is MASSIVE. i'm forced to SLOG through a whole group of enemies every single attempt. he's like malenia on steroids and i have NEVER struggled this much with anything in a game before. THIS IS THE WORST BOSS EVER.

edit: can someone lock this thread please thanks

hey nerds i already beat this drunk loser a while ago so you can all stop commenting the same thing over and over...idk why this thread hasn't gotten locked yet

Then select any random comment as the "answer" using the "mark as answer" feature of the forum posts. Once you do that, it should limit the people who reply. Doubtful but hope springs eternal.

I know you said your done but i would say like 6 months ago I had just beaten ER, DS3 and was gonna do Sekiro and it was an awful mistake. Yes its a from softgame but I was a roller in Souls like games not a parrier. Fast forward I beat DS1 and DS2 came back and it still did not make ANY sense to me. Honestly was worse. (still spamming rolls as my get away ability).

I did a parry only run in ER and it finally kind of clicked for me. I just started playing Sekiro a few days ago and it makes alot more sense to me now and I get the concepts alot better followed by asking the forums for some help on Lady Butterfly and it fixed my brain decay lol.

This game is blocking, jumping, dashing. But I feel like Jumping and blocking are the most useful. But some attacks its just safer to jump and avoid them.

Give it some time and come back its what I did and i'm better for it now. Games fighting is WAY more satisfying and it actually feels like a boss fight and not smashing heavy attack over and over again. I look forward to adding this in my 100% fromsoft games on my profile.

Good luck though!
yeah the main mechanics are both of my very least favorite things, jumping and parrying and i've tried to play it about 10 different times since it came out and it never clicked for me during any of them, not even once so sorry

well jumping is certainly not a "main mechanic" and is probably part of your problem. The only time to jump in combat is over a sweep attack. The combat is very simple, theres no running around, rolling or dodging, your attacking, parrying, and countering one of the three unblockable attacks. sweep = jump, thrust = mikiri, grab = dodge.
Its a skill issue, and you just need to get gud.

I don't understand people who prefer to roll around dodging and waiting to get 1 hit on the boss before repeating again.

Sekiro's combat system is so much better than other souls games. In sekiro you are the boss and your enemies can only do what you let them do. If you are aggressive enough you will lock them out of most of their moves.

Just parry and hit. So simple but so satisfying.

Its mainly the inability to get out of comfort zone and associating 'hardship' with 'bad game' because they have a reference point of a game they already enjoy and so they don't want to learn a new one and using the path of least resistance to either cheese or whine.

i love dark souls and especially ds1, but this is literally what makes sekiro my favorite game ever made.

Stealth kill as many bandits as possible, shuriken the archers, activate that samurai that helps when boss aggros.

As for dealing with Jozu's moveset, don't bother with deflects, just guard and learn when you can get hits in. If you get guard broken you'll have time to roll out of it. You won't be able to break his posture until his health is signifcantly down. Oil + Flame vent for DoT's.

Well it's safe and works, I never liked fighting the Juzou type head on personally. He always spammed grab for me when I was in his face and that became annoying fast.
CazadorDeLobo 2024 年 4 月 13 日 上午 12:17
I see a lot of obscure strategies, but dodging under the arm/sword towards his back for several easy hits is how I manage this boss. Sprinkle in combat arts or prosthetic attacks.

This is a great area to discover the limitations of AI aggro range and reset behaviors.
Didjeridingo 2024 年 4 月 14 日 上午 9:41
Only way I beat Corrupted Monk was literally spamming handfuls of ash into her face ... Try similar; exhaust all options in your arsenal and you'll find something.
