Game keep crashing on startup .. please help
Greetings all ...

am starting to face this weird issue with some of the old fromsoftware games

DARK SOULS 3 .. SEKIRO .. etc

- didnt test all other old games from other companies so i cant tell if it is general thing or just those ones -

i just finished ELDEN RING yesterday and thought about re-visiting old titles to make comparisons and found that none of them work for me and all are crashing on startup

no menus popup nothing .. just black screen then back to steam

this never happened before and as i said it didnt happen with ELDEN RING that i just finished

and i belive i even tested one of them before with no issues so just wondering if that is related to any updates on nvidia or windows

i have all things updated " windows - graphic drivers etc "

i have clean uninstall drivers .. same issue .. no fix

i have the latest and greatest hardware so i am 100% it is not the issue

i have nothing overclocked .. just the RAM to XMP tweaked

and before anyone suggested anything about that i tried to changed it to " Auto " And even tried "XMP 2 "

same issue so i dont belive its even ram thing

hope someone have any solution or explaination to whats happenening

and hope someone tried them out to see if it is happening to just me or everyone

Have you tried carrying out a verification of the integrity of the local game files? This is done within Steam. If there is any missing or corrupted files, they will be replaced. However, it does rely on a decent internet connection, preferrably a cable or fibre optics. Otherwise, the verification will take long time.
Faiing that, you can also try uninstalling the game and then reinstall it. Make sure you don't do anything else while it is downloading the game just to make sure. Good luck.
Oh one more thing. Please keep in mind that the game was developed back in 2016. Also, FromSoftware writes games for consoles first and foremost, i.e. the game is mainly catered for consoles at the time hence the FPS is capped at 60 max. for most of the TV at the time. As a result, when the game was "transcribed" over to PC platform (I presume that you are PC gamer), all these restrictions stay. As a result, the game does not take advantage of latest hardware, especially multisyn monitors with frequency over 60 Hz. Likewise, as ultrawidescreen monitor was not general available at the time, they do not work well with this game. You will require 3rd party software or MOD. Good luck...
