Overall, once you learn how to execute perfect parry/deflect, you really don't need to use the prosthetic tools much. Ok, certain boss, like Lady Butterfly, you need the shuriken. Gyoubu, the very first main boss on a horse, firecrackers. And for that matter, the very 1st mini-boss, the general with a seemingly mile long sword, the infamous axe. The ogre, the flamethrower.
Never rely on the prosthetic tool for vitality damage, always use it for posture damage when coming to boss class enemies or some high ranking samurai. In fact, the game is designed on purpose to encourage you to use posture damage to take out the enemy. Yes, some high ranking samurai and most boss class enemies, if not all, have high posture recovery rate, like Lady Butterfly, Owl, Genichiro and Isshin. Remeber this, when their health is down by 30%, the recovery rate starts to slow down. Down to 50%, even slower. And when their health is down only 30%, the recovery rate is zero. Couple these facts with the two passive combat arts where more posture damage will be dealt against the enemies right after a successful deflect, you will defeat them via posture damage.
Hope this help. Good luck and keep on perfect parrying :)
It's just I like styling a bit in a fight and the inability to cycle to specific prosthetic kinda break the flow of the fight. In other games such as Witcher 3 for instance, I can cycle between sign easily using number, making the fight flows better.
There is the Weapon Wheel mod, this may sound undesirable at first, however, watching ONBAL's video here, he states in the description that he's using it. He's playing hudless so we can't see it, but it looks to be allowing him to switch up prosthetics as well as combat arts like a true Shura on the fly:

Weapon Wheel:

And there's also "Sekiro Hotkey System"
I'd be wary about this one as the file seems to have been quarantined by Nexus mods, noone in the comments of it seems to be having any issues over malware so it might be a false flag, whether you're willing take that risk is up to you; I use neither of these mods. Maybe in the future I will but at my current skill level am fine taking free breathers in the pause menu

On a side note, Ongbal is just a different breed.
I didn't notice that, that's sick
Definitely going to get Weapon Wheel because of this, I hope it's assigned in a way similar to how Dishonored does it
I hope Sekiro modding gets to keep blooming more, it deserves the love.
Got it installed. Hotkey'ing isn't like the Dishonored wheel, but it's more than good enough, loving the ability to switch between both combat arts and prosthetics on a whim, will probably never play without this installed again
