I lucked out and the headless AI committed mental seppuku once he summoned the brown monkey, standing still while I bashed his spine out.
I've played DS3 and Elden Ring, this was by far the least amount of fun I had with any boss. Even filler bosses of Elden Ring had the homey quality to them, like seeing an old friend.
This was absolute ass that single-handedly killed any desire I had to replay this game one day, not that I had a strong desire to replay it in the first place. (if you wonder where I'm at right now, I'm right after killing the Corrupted Monk.)
Thanks everyone for your time.
You can skip the fight. They don't spawn until you defeat Guardian Ape, so you just have to go through their arena before killing Guardian Ape to skip it.
