my controller doesn't work
my drivers are updated, i tried changing how my controller was loaded into steam, and i also disconnected all of the extra devices i had from Bluetooth but my controller still doesn't work on my laptop. Idk what to do at this point since learning keyboard and mouse has been a massive pain and i haven't been able to progress much because of it.

What controller u're using？if it's not xbox, try upgrade you controller firmware

I'm using a Xbox series 2 elite, I just got the controller yesterday initially it didn't work after updating the firmware but i changed the controller configuration to keyboard and mouse, and while it works most of the buttons don't work the way they are supposed to, I'm not to sure how to fix this though.

My Series X controller did the same thing over Bluetooth with this game. Using a USB cable or using the Xbox wireless adapter were the only things that fixed it for me.

Steam Big Picture Mode -> Library -> Sekiro -> Controller Configurations -> Export Config -> Make a local-only config save
This solved the problem for my friend.

do you have any Wireless devices (especially wireless mouse or keyboard). If yes. Start Big Picture, disonnect all your wireless devices. Then start Sekiro with the controller (which also has to be wired).
Works for me, for some unknown reason.

This is what I would've said. I have been looking to replace my xbox 360 controller and have plenty of Bluetooth adapters but no Microsoft official wireless adapter.

yh Xbox Elite 2 and ps5 controller are not working with this game i have no idea why i have tried every fix ive found online but still its not working with controller.

i got it finally to work with my Controllers.

1. ive deinstalled Razer Synapse

2. in my device manager there was a xbox360 Controller under Xbox periphery ive deactivated that that and restarted my PC. after the restart under the device manager it shows now Xbox one controller. started Sekiro and it works now with my Xbox one Controller and Playstation Controller.

my gosh after days searching and searching found finally a fix i hope anyone who has also problems with this game can find my way helpful cheers.
