Can i change the control scheme ?

Right now I am playing on PC with a mouse and keybord but the buttons are in console , can I change them to show PC buttons ?

its horrible with mouse and Keyboard im just about giving the game back u will never succeed without a gamepad if they didnt fix the KEyboard settings when pushing left or right the character turns .... keys for fast inventory not working etc.
i wanted this game so hard but its not fun

I played all from software game on mouse and Keybord , I don't play console games so I am not good with console game scheme

I have spent over 2,500 hrs in Sekiro and all of them with keyboard and mouse. I won't say it is "horrible". If you want to be a pro in Sekiro, yes, Keyboard & mouse will be inadequate. But they are good enough for a completionist. Got all the achievements, hard though & it took quite a few hundred hours. The key to this game is to have high success rate in perfect deflection/parry. Even completed the game without Kuro's Charm plus equipping the Demon Bell, with KB&M. My success rate in perfect deflection/parry has never been 100%, around 60% to 80%. The only cheese I used was against Daemon of Hatred. :P
If I can do it, you can do it as well. Oh, one tactics I used to learn the bosses' moves is to backup the saved game files manually. So, if you die, just restore the saved game files and try again.
One extra advice is to make sure your Sekiro game has no frame drop, no stuttering, and the like. Frame drop is detrimental to good success rate of executing perfect deflection/parry.

Absolute nonsense from someone who is obviously not good with using m+kb.

Game works like a charm with m+kb and you can remap all buttons and also change the onscreen hints to kb+m.

Happy you found it. Its weird the game does not notice what device you're using. Its the same with elden ring but also with Nioh 2. Seems to be a japanese thing.

Ah nvm i understand what m+kb is and what this convo was about, i alr fixed my on screen prompts and stuff and i have had no problem playing the game for the past like 4hrs. TY for the post thou, helped me realise this quicker
