Dilapidated temple paper strips
Do these paper strips represent anything? I noticed my brother had heaps on his temple whilst near the end of the game but I only had a couple having just started. Does Emma nail a strip to the temple every time you die or something?

They're prints of all the salty reviews about game being too difficult.

Ain't noticed there being more or less of them, but then again never paid attention.

I didn't notice them until near the end of the game when they were everywhere, and I don't remember them being there before. Not sure what the significance is. Judging by how many there are in my save it very well may be one for every death.

I might be off, but I remember that those things are usually used to ward off demons. I don't want to go into more details due to boss/story spoilers.

When one examines the hut where the Sculptor lives, you can see that its entirety is covered with dozens of ofuda: a kind of paper talisman used in both Shinto and Onmyōdō rites for purification and exorcisms, or generally used as wards against misfortune and the supernatural.

Although I wouldn't go for a video game wiki on these things that have their source in actual things outside of games.

Those are talisman usually used to protect from harm/evil. Once you progress the story and connect the dots of some dialogues you'll know why they are there.

Kind of curious if there's legit more of them as the game goes on. It'd make sense I guess, but I didn't pay attention at all. Sure you didn't just miss them in the lighting and when they day/time cycle progresses, they became more visible?

Im 100% their numbers grow, because i havent noticed them until the end of the game when i was like "wait... Was the house always covered in those?... That's not a good sign..."
