Is sake just for back story?
I am deciding who I want to give Sake to. Emma has given some interesting tidbits of info. I think Guardian ape was the monkey that saved her as a child. I just want to know is there any other uses for sake besides backstory?

seems it it just lets you get to know each of the characters by drinking with them. so probably best to just focus all the booze on a single character.

Yes, sake seems to be strictly for the story. So if you're low on cash, just stick with items you need.

And the Guardian Ape wasn't the thing that saved Emma as a child, that was the Sculptor. He's very hairy, trained among the monkeys, and had the mannerisms of a monkey. His old name also used to be "Orangutan."

Both the Sculptor and Emma have two sides of the same story. Emma tells a story about how she was starving on a battlefield and a monkey with a rice ball noticed her and gave her the rice ball. Sculptor tells you about how he met Emma, and how she was a child he found on the battlefield who came wandering to him while he was eating a rice ball, and he felt badly enough that he gave her the rice ball and took her to safety.

It doesn't matter, there is enough of each type to give a bottle of each kind to every person.

It helps to understand a certain boss as well better, lore wise

Also, if you give sake to one individual and then to another, the lore will "click" and you'll think "Oooooooooh that's clever."
